Wilson Audio Yvette’s Finally Unleashed!
Hi All,
Unbelievably I have had the Wilson Audio Yvette Speakers here since Christmas but they have been stored away mainly due to their weight, as at around 80KG’s each speaker there was no way we could lift them to our upstairs demo rooms so I have had to wait patiently knowing that we would soon have 2 new showrooms on the ground floor, this was not easy as I have really fallen for the Wilson Sabrina’s so have been really keen to hear what the next model up brings to the party.
Anyway last week we finally uncrated the Yvette’s, they are definitely the most well packed speaker I have ever unboxed coming in heavy wooden shipping crates, it was actually a really easy process as they are already on castors so they just wheel straight out. Interestingly Wilson’s come with a plastic wrap on them when new to protect the paint finish, this can be a bit of a challenge peeling off but is very effective at doing it’s job.
Unfortunately the wait is not over just yet as our new Highend Room is still waiting for the Artnovion room treatment to arrive from Portugal and at the moment the room sounds quite shocking so I can’t try them out in there and we still have the awesome PMC BB5′s in the Naim Lounge on the Statement but the BB5′s and Statement are only here for a week or so more then I can finally get to hear the Yvette’s, always nice to have something to look forward to especially as I am really going to miss the Statement/BB5 setup. To start with I will try them on our Naim 500 system which I am expecting to be a pretty special combination.
Please find a link below to the Yvette’s on our website and a few un-boxing pics, it was actually easier to wheel the speakers outside to get to the new showrooms hence the weird outdoor pictures, don’t worry we weren’t trying to get arty :-)
