Based on the picture I have just seen of the top of you engine with the cam housing missing I think you may be able to advise me. Any chance of a phone number so I could call you. Question is about setting camfollower shims.

No problem. It may be worth ordering a couple extra shims either side of the one you need..Just in case, they are only a couple of pounds each and very useful spares for the future.

The sealant will make little or no difference if using modern loctite..
Sounds like you have progress, You may be able to swap a few around , especially if it was all correct before..
Did you make note of the shim sizes and the gaps you have from your last set up . if so post them to me and i will see if i can see any ways to improve before you buy shims ..
ie valve 1 .... 0.096 shim gap 0.010 valve 2 .......0.088 shim gap 0.015 etc etc.
