  1. On the topic of belts again. whilst under my car I used a fabric tape measure to measure my belt 59.3mm. I also measured the belt I could buy and lo and behold it’s too small. So I counted the number of teeth on bought belt and divided into the length. The number I then divided into my belt length. Near as dam it 61 teeth. Got on internet and found a 61 tooth timing belt with correct pitch for the teeth. Arrived today and measured 59.5mm! It’s 20mm wide so will need to be cut professionally to 16mm which won’t be a problem. Has anyone else done this? J
  2. Think I have messaged you did you get it? J
  3. Looks promising if you care to part with it. Analogue would be less of a battery drain. I understand these draw from the car when ignition off. Jay
  4. I’d imagine it is. Think this is the one. I’d be interested in getting if it is. Stay safe. Jay
  5. Hi has anyone got a digital clock for a g esprit working or broken? Many thanks. J
  6. Cut through the bar with hacksaw accepted I would never budge them will buy replacements.
  7. Interesting info. I have now taken them out of the wheels and made a template to mask the wheels leaving the bolt heads showing and have sprayed them with satin black hammerite.
  8. 68 +2. Looking at threads I have to cut through the hinge bar. No way to undo a seized screw I believe.
  9. Hi any advice on removing this screw I cannot budge it and worried about too much force. Many thanks. J
  10. Draft scratched bumper car rolled into something. How best to repair? Many thanks.
  11. Hi Steve I’ll see what he comes back with. Gutted I didn’t find him earlier he has just sold 4 dry sump engines to a chap in America 4K each.
  12. Hope I will know more later.
  13. Evening all. I have found a chap who says he has some new old stock dry sump oil belts which he has agreed to sell me. I do not know the sizes as yet and hope one will fit mine. He also has some pulleys. If he comes good would anyone be interested in the belts which are no use to me? J
  14. Oh yeah. Car is 1968. I’ve had it 23 years. Most of which is has been off the road due to one gremlin or another. It’s my second car and was my first lotus. Good job it didn’t put me off the day after driving it 200 miles home I took a girl out on a date in it and hit a pot hole and the driver side suspension turret snapped and came through the engine bay. Now have a son 5 months old and need a “family lotus” Esprit and Elise don’t work unless I have to self isolate. many thanks. J
  15. That’s great. I have tried Facebook messaging him but had no luck. I’ve gone through your thread now hope he answers as I think this is my final unicorn part that is missing. I bought some seats but tunnel was missing. Many thanks. Stay safe. J
  16. Very excited about tunnel cover being reproduced who is doing it? I bought the eBay seats will have to wait until covid over to collect. My exhaust exits to the side. Why do you ask?
  17. Do you know I didn’t notice the advert the pictures were from when I bought it had a different steering wheel. It has original type in it. I do tho like the one in the picture. Might have to find one. I wonder if the other dry sump that Nick Pope has is on the register. It’s in bits at Tomorrow’s classics. Will ask him for number. It’s black. Bbs no roof stereo. J
  18. My 68 +2 has the wrong interior. Any early seats and tunnels for sale? Many thanks. J
  19. Thanks Lex. Happy Easter stay safe. here’s the interior. J
  20. On the dry sump register mine is down as having tan interior but lotus build sheet from Graham says colour champagne.
  21. What is the crack detection stain called please?
  22. Yeah I have thought about doing it myself I have the kit and dad used to have a garage and painted my Morris. I guess I experiment with primer stage and go from there. Once the paint is off to the gel coat the problem will be dealing with old damage which is being uncovered. If he body was straight it would be a different matter but I think it’s had a front end crash at some time and a nose grafted on poorly.
  23. I nearly bought a blue convertible 25 years ago but got spooked by it when it had diff issues so regrettably didn’t buy it bought the maroon one. The day after I bought it the chassis snapped when I hit a pot hole. Only chassis I could get 25 years ago was a spyder so quickly fitted it but it was an awful car and in the end I stuck it in a garage where it’s been for 20 years. Now want to do it up properly as I have a 5 month old done and we’d like to go out as a family when he is older and neither the sc Elise or the dry sump esprit fit 3.
  24. Car sos Tim’s turbo appears to have single support Louvre. Is it a dry sump on the register?
