  1. I have spoken to Phil at SWL and they are going to try again with their supplier who they are going to ask to actually go to the bin at Lotus parts to see if the correct part is available - fingers crossed.
  2. It was James that supplied me with the parts in the first place so will get back to him just in case - Thanks
  3. Does anyone have a step by step procedure for removing the interior of a 98 on Esprit? Thanks Marc
  4. Dave, Yes there are some FTE markings but I cannot remember the digits - It's back on the car and all connected up. I will have look underneath at the weekend to see if I can see the digits. Marc
  5. Hi, I would also be interested in a post 98 clutch slave cylinder cross reference as I have searched online for some time now without success. I have also asked Lotus specialists who have been unable to help. The only thing I can add to this is that when I removed mine and cleaned it up I found 'Renault' embossed onto the casting but was unable to match it up to any Renault slave cylinder images I could find. Thanks
  6. Hi, When I bought my 1999 Esprit project it did not come with a wind deflector. As part of the repaint process I bought a new wind deflector from a Lotus specialist and ordered the associated tongues at the time. Unfortunately we did not know at the time that Lotus only had one side and they did not see fit to inform me. Instead of letting the specialist know (I would not have bought the wind deflector if we knew) they sent two RHS tongues. I only noticed this some time after when the car was being re-assembled - the Lotus specialists checked back with Lotus and this is when we found they had run out of LHS tongues (part number C082U4985F I believe). To cut a long story short I now have two RHS tongues and need a LHS passenger side tongue. Does anyone out there know where I may be able to get one or if anyone who may have one and even better would be wiling to part with it. Pictures attached to show my little problem. Thanks in advance. Marc
  7. Hi, The car is not supported on the jacking points but on structural parts of the car. I use the points used when it was with South West Lotus and on their lifts - basically underneath by the edge of the wheel arches - I can take photos if it would help - just let me know. Just to reiterate the lift has been invaluable and I would definitely recommend one. Marc
  8. Just found this on ebay - identical unit http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/scissor-lift-/151274903398?pt=UK_Lifting_Moving_Equipment&hash=item2338afd766
  9. The scissor lift is from Automotech Services Ltd and is an AS-7630 (or was when I bought it). Their website is: www.automotechservices.co.uk The lift I have is capable of lifting 2.7 tons although I have not had the nerve to test it with my Range Rover and was £995 + VAT at the time. Overall it has proven very good although you do need to watch the center of balance (if that is the correct term) as it moves as the scissors raise - I have since turned the lift around from the way it is in the photo which is a lot better for a rear / mid engined car. Oh and its also bloody heavy. At the time there were slightly cheaper products out there - direct imports from china, ebay, etc. but this one was rated to a higher capacity and there was someone at the end of the phone who knew about the product, how it worked and was able to supply spares if required. Anyway have a look at their website and make your own mind up - they supply all different types of lift. If you have any questions let me know, hope this helped. Marc
  10. Will dig out the receipt later this evening but need to walk the dogs now.
  11. I bought a scissor lift for working on my Esprit and have found it invaluable and would highly recommend. I can get get to nearly everything with ease. The only thing I had to do was build a small ramp as the lift is higher than the space under the car. The only down side to the ramp is that it makes it all to easy to see how rusty the car really is. Picture attached - Hope this info is of use.
  12. For the moment I will probably look to try and revive the old carpet to see if it can last a little longer but I will also talk to a local trimmer who I may get to re-cover my seats (the driver side is very tired). Will try and get down to them in the next few weeks. I am not sure how I would fair making my own - I doubt there would be a straight stitch anywhere.
  13. Thanks for the response. I have just had a reply from Allon White - Having read the email, fallen off my chair laughing, got back on it, fallen off it again still laughing wondering what planet they are on (my esprit has only 2 seats it's not a limo) they have stated they don't have ready made but can make a set for £1200.00 plus VAT - a bit of a difference from Coverdale who's best quality set for earlier esprit models is under £340.00 all in. Does anyone know of anyone else who may be able to help?
  14. Does anyone know if you can buy ready made carpet sets for a V8 or will I have to get a set custom made?. I have tried several companies including Coverdale without success (earlier versions only available). Thanks.
  15. Hi, is there anyone who can help me. I have over the past years been rebuilding my esprit V8 (unfortunately not to the same standard of some on this forum). I now need to apply the wheel arch decals but the ones I have appear to be a little over sized. If someone has some pictures (or can let me know where to find some) of how far over to the edge of the wheel spats the decals are meant to be fitted it would be greatly appreciated. This may seem a little picky but having got this far I would like to get it right. Please forgive any faux pas as this the first time I have posted on this forum. Thanks Marc
