  1. Isn't it great how a few, rather poor pictures and a pending dealer meeting can spawn the wildest rumours  :ice:

A longitudinal V8 in an evora mule? My god, that must have been a tight fit.

To quote a cardiac surgeon I used to work with, tighter than a Nun's........

  2. Totally agree. I guess we are a minority. An S would be too much expense for everyday use on UK roads. There should be a choice of engines unless of course the new engine is super efficient in both departments :-)

Just sold my NA. Talking to dealers in the UK, they seek few NAs new but most people buying a used Evora want a NA.

  3. We have two likely scenarios now,

    1) The Nos win and the Yes campaigners moan forevermore how good it could have been.

    2) The Yes vote wins and they complain how good it would have been if the UK government had split things more fairly.

Either way sadly, I don't think we'll be hearing the last of Alex Salmond!

  4. There's an international dealer meeting later this month. Lotus don't hold these unless they've got something big to disseminate. Geneva is not while March, is it too early to tell dealers what is coming then? The current range is obviously being modified but I wouldn't have thought that warranted a meeting.

The future does seem to be looking more positive than recent years.

Well done Bibs for taking the above action, disagreement and discussion is one thing, abuse is a another and is not acceptable.

  5. And, if this information is correct, they are now working on a new Elise for over a year. That means it could be out late 2015 or 2016! Pretty exciting "news", why did it take so long to discover all this? Oh well. I'm quite happy at the moment anyway :D

As I said a long long time ago, Lotus are booked to exhibit at Geneva in 2015, they've not been there for several years - we can assume they will have something new to show - probably no deliveries until 2016.

  6. Pete. Appreciate the thoughts. As much as it wasn't really tongue in cheek at all, I am over it now for today.

That bloody depression thread has opened up a can of worms in here, and as much as I know it was well intentioned, it has taken away the "happy place" I used to use this forum as as an escape, because everyone who knows me on here also now knows I'm a proper fruit loop, something that was reserved for a special few. It's now public knowledge. I don't like that, but what has been written and read can not be taken away.

    Now I vent on here.

Ian, I think my little nephew has got his eye on that old girl... I'll let him know to give you a call if he changes his mind.

I think the candid way people posted on the depression thread was brilliant and showed the strength of the individuals concerned. To publicly share such a thing reflects positively on those individuals and may, just may, lead to someone else seeking treatment (of whatever means) earlier.

  7. Exige Roadster?

If I was getting an Exige that would be the one, the one I drove seemed a little less harsh too on the road. It felt like just another Elise variant though and I'd want something I've not had before for that money. I may get an Elise in the interim.

  8. After almost three great years I decided recently to part with the Evora and today agreed a deal with JCT600. JCT obviously know the car and offered a far better price than the other dealers. It was a very sad drive up there this afternoon and that side of the garage looks empty now.

My plan was to swap early next year then get a camper van after a year. We wanted another soft top and I could have lived with an F-Type or Boxster (after ruling everything else out) but they didn't stir the sole. Therefore I've decided to get the camper now (8 mth build time) and then look again at soft tops, hopefully the new Lotus will be one.

  9. High cholesterol is usually little to do with diet, your liver produces it. Medication should be able to lower it and get the ratios back where they should be. Discount all the crap you've read about statins in the press recently!

  10. Thanks for being so candid. Depression is a terrible illness. Robin Williams had suffered Manic Depression for many years, many funny people do - Spike Milligan, Steven Fry, Hancock etc etc. Sufferers have periods of being completely manic followed by very bad depression. I don't work in psychiatry but I think it tends to be a lifelong problem whereas Depression maybe a one off event.

I personally had a very very low point while redundant several years ago where I felt very depressed. I came very close but I don't think I was clinically depressed but I too would burst into tears when alone. My wife was very supportive, she even taxed the Lotus for me without telling me when she knew Nyloc had arranged a run to the coast (I'd Sorn'd it when made redundant.) I think I was very lucky to find work when I did or I'm sure I would have become clinically depressed.

I was lucky, but I'd advise anyone else feeling very down to see their GP. The earlier you do the quicker the recovery.
