  1. I had one made for £120 for my NA that is great. I've even had Aston owner say it sounds awesome. It roars when you give it some stick but is very quiet otherwise. I didn't want anything boomy when cruising. Only downside is you can't hear it yourself. I keep going to record it with the GoPro - the wife won't give it enough stick when she goes out for me to really hear it.

  2. I sold mine to a dealer in London, he said even dealers have bought fakes.

I got sick of the service costs so sold mine, it would start to lose at around three years then off to Rolex it would go for three months and I'd be £350 worse off - you can get them done cheaper by independants but I never trusted them after my colleagues GMT leaked and was ruined after being serviced by a well known Independant.

I fly every other day so purchased a Casio Ediface watch which changes time zones automatically etc. It's three years old now and I've never adjusted it - it gets more positive comments than either of my Rolex watches ever did too.

  3. The manufacturers say they only emit water vapour but I follow a friend every morning when we walk our dogs and I can tell what flavour he is vaping that day before we meet him. I doubt there are health risks to passive exposure as with cigarettes but I could be wrong.

Personally I like to see them regulated like tobacco. Firstly the quality varies enormously not only from brand to brand but even among batches. Secondly, I've seen several children using them, I once spoke to one lad who said they must be safe or there'd be age restrictions on them.

The research I've read in medical journals surprisingly shows they are not a good method of aiding smoking cessation. However, I know several people who have ceased to use tobacco by substituting e-cigarettes. Several have then stopped altogether but others have actually increased there nicotine intake. My friend above now 'vapes' in his home, in hotel rooms, in his car and at work. When he smoked cigarettes he didn't smoke in these places. Undoubtedly he is ingesting much more nicotine than he did with his 8-10 cigarettes per day. Nicotine is generally considered non carcinogenic but some say if heated the way e-cigarettes do, it becomes carcinogenic. I'm not convinced by this hypothesis and feel its a red herring at best. The real issue is the effect nicotine has on the cardiovascular system - e-cigarettes will undoubtedly reduce the ingestion of tobacco but paradoxically may cause an increase in cardiovascular disease such as coronary heart disease, peripheral vascular disease and impotance.

  4. My take on flying is that each pax should have an all up weight limit of 110 kgs. This includes the pax weight and luggage. If the lard-arse is heavier than this he must pay excess baggage on his weight and on any luggage he may have.

At present we have an unfair situation where a "normal" weight person is charged for excess baggage if he is a few kgs over the limit whereas the lard-arse who weighs twice as much as the normal weight person has the same baggage allowance.

    Good point.

  5. Right, so Evora represents about 130 cars per year there, so it's not exactly like Lotus can make do without these sales considering all things. Lotus do something and I seriously hope you get it done soon cause without cars to sell I don't know what's the point in having dealers in the country.

Sales aside, if they don't do anything they are in effect stepping out of the US which could be a big market for their next model. Lotus has a fair number of followers in the US. I work for a US company, my office was in Menlo Park and the guy who hired me had an Esprit, one of the girls over there has an Elise (she saw me in some Lotus branded clothing and told me). But my old managers Esprit has been replaced by a Ferrari and the girl is looking at Porsches for her next weekend car. Enthusiasts in old Lotus cars don't make any money for Lotus, they need sales!,
