  1. I have not seen it publicised anywhere on here so thought I would post as not a lot goes on here up north. I visited the event earlier this year with my car and it was a really good meet with some nice cars on display in the sunshine, sadly not very many Lotus Sunday 28th September at Lotherton Hall, below are web links to the site and the Facebook group for it if anybody is interested in taking their cars along. http://www.carsinthepark.org.uk https://www.facebook.com/groups/carsinthepark/ Here's hoping to see a few more Lotus there on the day.
  2. I am posting this for a colleague who is currently organising a charity track day at Castle Combe Racing Circuit on Thursday 29th August. There is limited availability but spaces are available at the moment. I would go myself but unfortunately I am jetting away on holiday the next day. He asked me if I would post this on the Lotus forums in case there are any other members who might like to take their cars along. He is an AC Cobra owner , so doesn't drive a "real" car. The contact details are on the attached hyperlink word document if anybody in the area is interested. http://www.salisbury...ty trackday.doc I am told the prices are fairly reasonable and it is all for charity at the end of the day.

  4. I was sitting directly opposite the Lotus pits, the look on the pit crews face said it all. I'd take mine in for a service there any day.
  5. To be fair there was another row of cars in front of these when i first arrived, 1 evora and 4 elise but these left very quickly. Newcastle Lotus had 5 cars there across from us but they left fairly early on also.
  6. I think we were a little under represented there today. There was only a few of us left by noon as per the picture. A few minutes later there was just my Evora and the Esprit. I think I saw LooseCannon arrive as I was preparing to leave.
  7. I would consider it if i had an old 2nd hand one, definitely not on a new one.
  8. I think this is the picture that was rumoured to be a facelifted version. Looks very nice. http://motoren.wordpress.com/2011/02/04/lotus-working-on-evora-facelift/
  9. Well the Megane has gone back and the dealership has wheeled out a brand new Sportracer for me to pootle around in until sorted. I am a much happier less grumpy driver now. Personally i would have been happy with a 2nd hand car but hey you know. It is appalling how car dealerships do not understand the Sale of Goods Act. The dealer keeps telling us that they are dealing with it as a warranty claim as a new engine has arrived and that they have passed it onto Lotus board in terms of replacing the car entirely. When in reality the contract is with the dealer not the manufacturer (albeit they would need to source a car from them). For now i am happy an not in a rush as i once again like the car i am driving, the saga will continue though.
  10. Bentley Continental GT got to be in the running even if they are footballers cars.
  11. I'd say the Evora was a supercar, especially as there is no real definition of what a supercar is. I think cars like the Mclaren are in the hypercar league these days.
  12. Well she has been in and a con rod had gone through the engine casing. According to the dealer £16k for an undressed engine but was being handled under warranty. The Mrs knows her sale of goods act off by heart and wants a new car as that one was not fit for purpose or durable enough. They do not know what caused the problem and Lotus will not let the dealer look at the engine. Good job she went in as i would have blown a gasket, not finding out what actually happened until a week later is a bit of a sham and paying what i am a month for the car it is not what i would call appropriate to drive around in a mothers school run vehicle. It will continue.
  13. Well Lotus have been out and authorised a new engine, 48 hours to arrive but the phone message from dealer states several weeks to fit it and hire car extended to 25th March. I really cannot drive a Megane for that long it will drive me insane. Still not found out what the issue was as tied up in work without even a lunch break. Other half has found and she has gone to the dealer, oh dear, this could get messy.
  14. Chrome wrap will be the in style to go with as soon as the film The Host hits.
  15. Will update here when i know more, i think the car just got jealous as i was looking at an R8 convertible at the weekend before.
