I think this opens up to more potential customers, but the downside will be the cost, average is about 10%.

Wow that’s shot up over the years then. Never paid anywhere near that when I used them in years gone by.

At those costs might as well agree a reserve and use Collecting Cars where buyer pays 7.2% .  Just stick to reserve as they have tendency to try and talk you into lowering it on last day.

Re sitting down with an IFA.  The advice that you would receive today would be totally different to what you would have been given before that little sh1t Putin started his antics, and more than likely be different to what would be offered in a month's time.  My IFA always tells me that what the markets like is certainty and stability.  Two commodities that are seriously in short supply at the moment.   Now is not the time to be making life changing financial decisions.  HOLD!

I’ve seen 35% wiped off my main stocks in pension this year.  If I was looking to purchase an annuity then I would be worried , as I would have to take that hit “now”.  However as I’m looking to use a flexible drawdown of pension pot over next 25 years, there is plenty of time for market to recover and make some.

This explains the risk angle well.

  3. Had one of the first Premier Edition A110 when they came out. Great to drive in the B roads, extremely rapid and gearbox was fine.  Ultimately I didn’t gel with the looks so moved it on. At the time I remember saying an A110 with Lotus looks would be my ideal car.

(tried to insert link to thread on this forum but it’s not working.  I’ll mention OP in said thread instead. )

Re McLaren I did my research after selling my AMG GT via Alistair Bols ( probably largest indie used mclaren seller) .  Great guy to deal with asked frankly if I was to buy a used 570S and keep for 12 months, what would it honestly cost to own taking into account SOR fees renew warranty etc to sale.  His advice was £20k would be realistic cost .

    Hope that helps.

  4. Well I’ve had a GT3 and a couple of Evoras and totally different beasts. Personally I found the Evora not to be a great track car in stock trim (GT430 excluded), vs likes of an Exige V6 and way off any GT3.   Preferred Evora as a road car though :)

Of course this is all personal views and everyone has a different one, so all good in the hood 🤜🤛

Found a Première with less than 3k miles in pearlescent white with a yellow fleck to it, STUNNUNG! Solihull Alpine; salesman Tim was very helpful and a pleasure to do business with.

Pick it up on Wednesday, then it's booked in at Spires technology Warwick on Saturday for the "Life" sports lowering springs, fast road Geometry and remap , 300ps and 380nm torque.

    Can't wait😃.

Congrats. Loved the handling of mine .  Enjoy.

The non yellow still comes up good mind if you look after it. Here are a couple of high res photos of my old 410 in the sun. If you download to your computer and look it should give you a very good idea of what will be like. https://home.glasscubes.com/share/s/fig0ukftjrc0undabnu58coafq

Love the photos. Any chance you can share more photos from other angles on the car, as best chance for us to imagine how it will look on the Emira ?

  7. Did a fly by a friend in the Evora 400 auto at full revs on the motorway and was told there was some nice blue flame from the exhaust at upshift.

The 400 was actually too loud when on it. A tad quieter will be perfect 👍

I'm surprised by this. I didn't get this sense at all to be honest. To me it's a sports car, not a supercar, and does not have the presence (size) of a supercar. When you stand next to the latest supercars from Ferrari, McLaren, et al the one thing that hits you (well it hits me anyway) is the size of the things. They are not small cars at all, to the extent they would not be a great B road blaster!

Hmmmm 488 is 1952mm width, the Huracan is 1933, the Emira is 1895.  I suppose that extra 4-6 cm is too much for some ;)

Personally I think it has super car looks, but referred to as junior super car due to price point and performance

Each to their own though, as all subjective 😄

  10. It’s a good point Graham. If the car is a weekend toy that is often kept higher in the rev range you won’t notice it.  However I found as the Evora was used as a daily driver I often was in traffic at lower revs expecting to be able to use torque of engine to accelerate without changing down, as per any other 350 bhp car.  It was then you experienced the transmission noise.

Hopefully they’ve been able to dampen it down enough not to be a problem for majority of new owners 👍

…. it's only something you notice when you labour the engine at low rpm.  Take from that what you will.

Which unfortunately was exactly the problem I had with my Evora, so although it may be improved, the fact they mention it shows it’s still a problem :(

As I know this problem doesn’t exist with the auto and I enjoyed the auto on the 400,  for me I’ll go that route

    thanks for update btw.

  12. Was at Solihull yesterday around 13:15 so sure I met some of you on here. Car is stunning but as others have stated the colour samples are quite a way off configurator for green, red and nimbus so you need to see them in the flesh to finalise spec.

I took some photos with piece of white and grey car in shot to help white balance. Don’t have space on my account to share here , so have posted elsewhere where I see a lot of similar usernames.

  13. Needed to change my viewing slot at dealers due to work conflict. Called dealer and was told unfortunately it had to be re arranged by lotus centrally.  So called Lotus to then be told no, it’s the dealer.  Informed them I had been told the opposite , so they kindly said they would call dealer and sort it and then phone me back.  Guess what, 2 days later and no calls.

To then top it all, a day later I get a reminder email from Lotus regards my original booking, with instructions at end of email if I need to re schedule I should contact Lotus direct.

Someone needs a damn kick up the arse at Lotus, they create so much confusion.  I give up lol.
