    Everyone done it?/bothered?

Supposed £1000 fine for not doing it.

I’m sure I’ve done these darn things before but just can’t remember doing one. Filling in for a family of 4 takes around 30 mins but the detail of some of the questions is a bit why on Earth do they want to know all that.

Do they really need/want to know how many O levels I didn’t get 35 years ago? - No

Do they really need to know how on which mode of transportation my wife gets to work? - No

And 3rd time in the last week (on different platforms) and most annoyingly I keep been asked - Do I identify as a male?
    - Yes I do!! - I have Bollox and a knob! - I’m going to start enclosing a picture soon!!

    😡

No. You are supposed to complete it on March 21st I think.

  2. Just finishd Patriot and thought it was really good.

NOC (non official covert) agent suffering PTSD is given another job which quickly goes sideways. This follows his ic=ncreasing decent into depression as he just has to keep pushing through each hurdle.

Very darkly funny. Reminded me of In Bruges and Fargo. Much darker than I would expect for anything to come form USA with some laugh out loud moments.

    Highly recommended.

Dairy Milk did not change but maybe the Germans cows milk is not as good as the UK cows milk :)

Well we tried the fruit and nut and it tasted like poo. So yes the Dairy Milk did change.

  4. On the subject of sleep I'm reading this at the moment which is fascinating:

    https://www.amazon.co.uk/Why-We-Sleep-Science-Dreams/dp/014198376

One nights loss of sleep has the same detrimental effect as drinking to the legal limit but it's worse because the brain does not recognise the impairment.

Highly recommend reading as it's fascinating and enlightening from the very first basic premise:

    All animals sleep.

During sleep we cannot engage in the basic survival needs of eating, survival and reproduction.

We spend 30% of our lives sleeping.

Therefore it must be pretty damned important in evolutionary terms.

Worth a watch - not normally my sort of thing - but it’s an amazing piece of historical drama.

We are part of the way through watching this. It's easy to forget the stigma, misinformation and fear that surrounded HIV at this time.

  6. A friend of mine caught the Rona. In his 50s but fit as he went to the gym 5 times a week doing weights and HIIT classes. Recovered after 2 weeks but gave it to his partner. She's a bit younger but asthmatic. She had to stop taking her asthma medicine as it's steroid based so impacts the immune response.

Anyway all went quiet for a couple of weeks but the update is his partner has recovered OK but he is suffering from long covid effects. Severe fatigue and breathlessness.

It's not just death you need to worry about.

That's true in that the Senate Majority Leader (Chuck Schumer) will be in charge of the procedures but unfortunately, the Senate requires a 2/3 vote to convict.  A simple majority won't do.  If that were the case (simple majority) there would be no question that he would be convicted.  Since the Senate is split 50/50,  the Republican party will be required to provide 17 votes to convict.  Are there 17 honest Republicans in the Senate who will openly consider the evidence and actions that lead up to the riots and sedition in Washington?  That's far from clear.

Hey plumber, ever find any proof of Mandela being a murderer?  I remain open to such if you have it.  If you don't, your last contribution to this thread is received  as good news and an indication that Mandela isn't the monster you have made him out to be.

Yes. I think a two thirds majority is unlikley. Some of the GOP won't want to close off the option and most of it won't want to be the party of the first convicted president.
