  1. Just stumbled across this. It was probably me - live in the local area.
  2. When I was at Hethel looking at all the colours the chap showing me around stated that the current green that is in the brochure has been replaced with a different shade. The new green cars were being made for Europe. The new green did initially look nice however I felt as though it might get a bit boring. Incidentally I went to the factory wanting to get the green but I changed my mind after seeing the orange one.
  3. Hi Guys, After a few week of ownership I thought I would share some of my experiences: Positives: Ride is definitely firmer than that of the old car however it isn`t too firm. In comparison to a m3, c63 or gtr it is more compliant and rides much better. The exhaust sound is unbelievable for a standard car, always puts a grin on your face. On motorways it does get a bit tiresome however the switch to make it quiet is brilliant. The brakes are superb for a standard car and they give so much confidence to the driver. It certainly gets a lot of attention on the road! The shouts of 'look at the Lamborghini' is common in London Negatives: Climate control should have been standard ( Can`t weigh that much can it?) Sound system is rubbish Overall: I own a McLaren 12C Spider which is quite an interesting comparison to the Evora. All i can say is that the evora is about 80% of the McLaren at less than half the cost. If lotus had more money i am sure they would make similar cars. My wife summed it up nicely by saying that the lotus drives, feels and looks like a mini McLaren, what more praise can the car get? Thanks, Kirun PS. Got my first wave from a fellow Evora owner yesterday
  4. I think that you are right to an extent. In terms of reliability i have never really had an issue with these items and it does make the whole experience a little easier. However what i am slowly realising in my one week of ownership, is that every time i sit in the car and forget to turn on the lights i remember the reason i bought this car wasn`t for all the gimmicks but for the raw enjoyment that i get from the driving experience and the car definitely delivers. Yes a proper climate control would have been much better. Constant fiddling with the controls is annoying and i am hoping i get used to it soon.
  5. Hi Guys, I had been browsing the forums for a few months whilst deliberating on my next car. I have come from a r35 gtr to a c63 and now the lotus. Firstly can i say a massive thank you to Jamie from B&C he has been very helpful in my search for a new car. Once i had decided on the Evora 400 he took me up to Hethel to have a look at all the different colours and combinations of the vehicles being produced. It was a very different facility compared to the only other car manufacturer that i have been to at Mclaren Technology Centre but it was a very personable and humbling experience. It was amazing that Lotus produce a car like the Evora with the limited funding given to them and i have a new found respect for the brand. Secondly i have never owned a Lotus before or ever seriously considered purchasing one. Browsing through the thread on the Evora 400 thread was interesting to say the least. From an outside perspective looking in it seemed as though the camp was divided on the new evora. On one hand there were those who claimed the car was too expensive and others who claimed that the car didn`t look good. To those who say it is too expensive i would agree to disagree, in order to get someone like myself who is new to the world of Lotus into their new car they needed much improvement to the overall fit and finish of the vehicle which is still not brilliant but is now acceptable to live with. On to the car- I picked up an Orange 400 with black wheels and black roof on Saturday. It has taken me a while to adjust to the fact i don`t have auto lights, auto dimming mirrors, etc.... Im sure i will get used to it soon however. The alcantara seats are very supportive the car as a whole is much easier to get in and out of compared to the old evora. The exhaust note is scarcely believable it sounds amazing from both inside and outside the vehicle. It feels light nimble and quite powerful even compared to the cars i have had previously. I will post pictures up as soon as the weather improves and if anyone has any questions i will try my best to answer. Thanks, Kirun
