  1. I have ended up with 126mm / 137mm and could go lower if we tried. I have the correct top mounts/brackets as fitted to Cup cars for the Ohlins TTX dampers. What we learnt is that 60 litres of fuel and a driver make about a 5-7mm difference, and more importantly bringing the back down lowers the front a lot too. At the front I have 9mm of movement on the spring when the car is jacked up, but Russ says this is just fine. I don’t think I need the short eyes and I am at target ride height, and also worried with short eyes that it may foul the bracket - although Russ assures me they wouldn't. My mechanic Simon of CMS http://classicmodernsports.co.uk/ spent a lot of time and effort getting it just where it should be - thanks to all who have helped, I am now looking forward to Silverstone GP on Tuesday

  6. I'm told Cup R top mounts are needed to run the Ohlins - I'm assuming I have these though as mine were fitted from new at Lotus Motorsport. Also shorter top eyes are available (front 15mm and rear 10mm shorter)
  7. Yes, change the Pad to something more racey like PF08.
  8. Thanks - I was not in the car, so I guess I need to fill with fuel and put 80kg in the drivers seat. I can't imagine it coming down too much though. I'll check this tomorrow. I'm in touch with Russ at Mick Gardner Racing who have just rebuilt my Ohlins about this - I'll post up what he says.
  9. What ride heights are you all running and where are you measuring from/to? I'm struggling to get lower that 140 and 158mm measuring between the wheels, from the ground to the chassis rail. Lotus previously measured at 136 / 130mm.

  12. Great news. A lovely car, I know you change cars more often than your pants but was surprised when the exige went. Good to see it holding its own surrounded by the suoercar establishment. Get it back out on track again - perhaps a run to Spa.
  13. It is definitely not a normal noise and it won’t get better on its own. I’d ask silverstone to collect the car on a trailer. They will be able to tell you what the issue is, fix it and hopefully you won’t have a bill.
  14. So which parts in the gearbox need replacing? did you really do for two gearboxes on your gt4 too?
  15. Bad news - sorry to hear. Send it back to the dealer to be fixed. It sounds awful.
  16. Look forward to your thoughts on the pipe. What weird stuff had Komotec done when fitting the cat? It now looks quite heavily modified to fit the new exhaust.
  17. No, nothing too bad. I was at about 17/18km around the lap, there is a bit that jumps down which I was braking a little for, then it opens out to a short but very fast straightish bit, just before the mini carousel. It's flat out in 4th and maybe 5th and you can take a huge bit of grey rumble strip with the left hand side of the car - I did, at I guess 120mph and the car just died. Absolutely dead, even the speedo stuck on. I coasted for quite a long way looking for the safest place to stop, which was harder than I imagined. Had to park up and leave the car. Managed to hop back over and check for loose battery terminal, but that was really difficult to see. The tow truck was on the way by now and the two marshals had arrived and coned off the area. Then it stuck me, as the tow truck was in sight, why don't I try pressing the big green button on the dash - with the marshals permission I hopped over and she started straight away. Then they wouldn't let me drive off - then I begged, and they let me - straight to the office to pay my fine........ Pic below of strict marshal, who was then was very pleasant, their very nice Focus and stranded Exige with stunning view.
