  1. I made up an injector tester out of a weed killer sprayer and drilled in a tyre valve as this could easily take 2 bar. I also brought an injector electrical tester which pulses them in different modes. I tested the 10 I now have acquired and found 6 that work and seem to deliver the same amount of fuel over 10 sec. 4 are back in the car and it is running better than it ever did with the Five-O injectors. 2. Thanks for this Ian, These do look better than the Five-O ones which I bought. I have managed to track down a few original injectors so hope these will prove to be OK.
  3. I think I'm sorted for now - just got to try to make up an injector tester to work out which ones are good. Does anyone know off hand what the rail pressure should be? I'm hoping to then run them one at a time and match up the ones which have similar flow rates for a given pulse stream.
  4. Thanks Dave. I've ordered 2 from a guy in Germany who was advertising on eBay. Fingers crossed I can make up a set of 4.
  5. I've checked out the Manifold, Valves and Cylinders with an inspection camera - it looks like the bits have already passed through.
  6. I really only need 2 of the original type injectors as 2 of mine were ok. If anyone has replaced a set and still has the originals I'd be interested in buying them.
  7. Was this a new set of SE injectors? If so can you let me know where you got them please?
  8. Sorry I should have said - it's an Turbo SE 1990. I inherited it from my brother about 3 years ago. Initially it ran really rough with not much power and the Turbo working hard. This turned out to be 1 dead and 1 intermittent injector. I managed to get new ones from America and the car then ran better. General driving was ok but acceleration over 4000 rpm resulted in misfires but it was usable. It was running ok like this until it had some new plugs and a wheel bearing fitted. Soon after the engine check light came on and the car idled high. Luckily this was only a mile or so from home so hasn't run like this for long. It's been like this since May but I met Dave (who has a black SE turbo) and this inspired me to have another go at it. He put me in touch with this forum. The Cat, BPV and throttle jack are all missing as well. I have now had a look at the IAC and it was loose. I took it out and the plunger doesn't move. Should it? MAP elbow at Sensor end was badly perished - at least the designers made it easily accessible ; ). After I taped this up, reset the IAC and idle speed it ran a bit better but still at 1400 rpm. Decided to check the IAC again an noticed that injector No 1 was a bit wobbly. Further investigation found that it has fallen apart - hence chuffing noise near the IAC. Should I try to find the bits in the inlet manifold? Can anyone recommend decent injectors?

  10. I've had a go with freescan and got this info. The exhaust sensor was loose but doesn't seem to have improved anything by tightening it up. I guess I should explore the IAC?

  12. Thanks for this. I'll try to get a longer recording but this was all I was allowed to upload onto the forum. I'll have a look at that. I originally thought it might be a valve burnt, but the compression tests ok.
  13. I've got a high idle and chuffing noise and Check Engine light after a couple of minutes. Compression is about 90 psi on all cylinders. Any ideas about what I can check next? IMG_4222.MOV
