Sorry I should have said - it's an Turbo SE 1990. I inherited it from my brother about 3 years ago. Initially it ran really rough with not much power and the Turbo working hard. This turned out to be 1 dead and 1 intermittent injector. I managed to get new ones from America and the car then ran better. General driving was ok but acceleration over 4000 rpm resulted in misfires but it was usable.
It was running ok like this until it had some new plugs and a wheel bearing fitted. Soon after the engine check light came on and the car idled high. Luckily this was only a mile or so from home so hasn't run like this for long. It's been like this since May but I met Dave (who has a black SE turbo) and this inspired me to have another go at it. He put me in touch with this forum.
The Cat, BPV and throttle jack are all missing as well.
I have now had a look at the IAC and it was loose. I took it out and the plunger doesn't move. Should it?
MAP elbow at Sensor end was badly perished - at least the designers made it easily accessible ; ). After I taped this up, reset the IAC and idle speed it ran a bit better but still at 1400 rpm.
Decided to check the IAC again an noticed that injector No 1 was a bit wobbly. Further investigation found that it has fallen apart - hence chuffing noise near the IAC.
Should I try to find the bits in the inlet manifold?
Can anyone recommend decent injectors?
