  1. I'm interested in Steven's car but a bit concerned about it being a Cat D (I realise that the price reflects that of course!). I asked Steven if he knew who carried out the repair but unfortunately since it was before his time he doesn't. Just wondering if anyone on here knows the past history of the car and perhaps could answer that question for me. Thanks.....
  2. Hi Folks, just wondering what you all think of this Evora? https://www.pistonheads.com/buy/listing/10744725?cId=10112445&cId=10751128&cId=10189611&cId=10410550&cId=10410353&cId=10744725&cId=10259729&cId=10100388&cId=10642969&cId=10643121&cId=10395424&cId=10474714&cId=10391618&cId=9217183&cId=10639163&cId=10085451&cId=10471689&cId=10539122&cId=10637829&cId=7612933 Is the price right for the very high miles? Don't know if I should consider this one or spend more money for less miles? Thanks for any advice, Dave
  3. Just want to say a big thanks to Scotsdave for all his advice and info and to everyone else for their advice. I'm still mulling things over but I think a price of around £23,000 would be fair and if I decide I want the car then that is probably what I'll offer. Thanks again all, Dave
  4. Hi David, thanks for the additional information. To be honest I'm unsure what to do. I would expect the garage to fix the oil leak before sale and also to rectify the water leaks. I'm not sure I could get them to sort out the aircon though and of course the clutch would be a worry. But I realise that all of this is reflected in the price of the car. So I'm now wondering to myself if I should perhaps spend another 5 to 10 thou and get a (supposedly better built?) 2012 onwards car or if I should pay the much lower price for your old car and just hope for the best. I must say when I saw it in the flesh it did look awesome. I wasn't sure about the colour until I saw it but when I did I thought it really worked well on the car. The showroom was full of Porsches and Mercs but to me the Lotus really stood out. Thanks for giving me a clue as to the price. That may help with negotiations if I go ahead. The salesman gave me the impression that they had bought the car direct from a careful owner and that it was not an auction car. Guess it's best not to be too trusting. Also thanks for the offer of the plate, however I do have a number to put on it if I get it. I would have thought you'd get a decent price for it though. Best regards, Dave
  5. As an aside David could I be cheeky and ask what Snippersgate gave you for the car? It would help a great deal in negotiations!
  6. Thanks very much for your comprehensive reply David. I called to see it today. Lovely looking car but I agree about the price. I think all things considered and want it a bit cheaper. Not having had a new clutch certainly worries me. Did you ever try to fix the water leaks? As the car would be in daily use and living outside that could be a problem.
  7. Hi, just wondering if anyone knows FJ11EVB, a 2011 N/A car in blue currently for sale at Snippersgate in the North East of England? thanks, Dave
  8. Hi Folks, I've been looking for an Evora for what seems like ages and this one has cropped up not too far away from me. Just wondering if anyone knows anything about the car and could perhaps advise me. Also it's done quite a lot of miles. What do you think? Thanks, Dave https://www.pistonheads.com/classifieds/used-cars/lotus/evora/lotus-evora-122-v6-sports-racer-4-2013/10032381
  9. I think I can get the car for £24000. Do you think I should risk it at this money?
  10. Just wondering why you feel that this car might not be 'the right money' Martin?
  11. Hi All, I'm still thinking of buying this car https://www.pistonheads.com/classifieds/used-cars/lotus/evora/lotus-evora-3-5-vvt-i-v6-2-0-coupe-2dr-2010/9349541 Couple of quick questions though. At that mileage (43,000) should I be worried about the clutch as it hasn't had a new one? I understand it's an awfully expensive job. The other thing I'd like to know is how do I tell if it has a long ratio or close ratio gearbox? Thanks for all the help both previously and now. Dave
  12. Thanks guys for all the information so far. This is a really great group and really helpful. I've found out a bit more about the car I'm interested in. From 2012 to 2015 the registration number was BAZ 8864 and from 2016 to 2018 the reg number was A13 CJU Do these numbers ring a bell with anyone? Thanks again........
  13. Yellow/Black Evora - info needed before I buy. Registration number: AU 60 DXM. The link to it is here : https://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/201810241791494?onesearchad=New&onesearchad=Nearly New&onesearchad=Used&make=LOTUS&postcode=ts274bs&advertising-location=at_cars&radius=80&sort=sponsored&page=1#fpa-description If anyone has any knowledge of the car I'd be most grateful to receive it to help me decide if I should buy it. Also what do you think of the price? The roof is black wrapped and does have a couple of wrinkles in it. It's located in Newcastle. Thanks guys, Dave
