I don't consider that serious rust. To me it is corrosion of serviceable parts on a 13 year old car that's been used.
It's lovely to see clean, pampered cars but thank goodness for one's that are used and treated as consumable products rather than deified.

I won't disagree with you about using our cars, I do think that's pretty significant tin-worm.
On that subject, I can highly recommend ACF-90 rust treatment; I've found it extremely good at combating and converting rust.

Holy moley that is serious rust! Well done for getting someone else to tackle it; it will be quite the thing to disassemble!

Is it effectively a NEW registration? That might be the angle to go for?

I've seen that one on a few track days.
The engine will be pulling lovely, then.

Those dampers are now for sale. They look good, but the Core+ ones are not cheap (!!!).

Drop-link broken?

I've received nothing. Guess I was too succinct in summarising my lack of interest in Emira or Eletre.

Except for getting out of it

Supersports are still a perfectly good tyre; I wouldn't change them until they get low.

If you read the very first post, it looks like it was done without removing the dash. I also agree that removing the dash by an audio company doesn't sound like a good idea.

An overall picture of the supercar market here, with a specific mention of Evora around the 7:55 mark. Basically, Evoras doing very well in a falling market by holding value.

Hi all
I thought I'd update this thread to say I've placed a deposit on a 2011 Evora S manual. The car looks fantastic and is coming from a forum member whose pride and joy it is. I'm so excited about getting the car, I've wanted one for so long and I the car is exactly what I have been looking for. I'll share some pics and info once I have the car home but would appreciate any advice for driving an Evora for first time? What things to look out for/quirks and anything you wish you knew when you first drove one e.g. where the petrol filler cap release is etc.

The green Anglia is my neighbour's. He owns the actual Harry Potter car used in the films!
-
Amazing how many people deny it's clearly a derivation of the Evora.

Ironically though, the 2CV engine is terribly bad (like a 100 times worse) for pollution compared to modern engines; believed to be based on an old WW2 German generator!

I thought modern leather seats are sealed, making things like leather conditioners obsolete/redundant?

Deliberate choice; I love the colour. Had dark green RS2, RS4, M5 in the past as well. I think the colour is the same as the Carlton?
Initial impressions is that while the NA and 410 are wonderful, lovely cars, the 430 is something truly special; incredibly responsive in steering, braking and throttle and quite a way over towards the race-car end of the spectrum, but livable daily. Cannot stop driving it!

Northern and northern-western bit has concrete sections that give huge tyre noise and bump, bump, bump, bump across the expansion joints.

Ha nice one, but the only time I did a proper pull it was scary-fast already! Honestly don't need/want more grunt.

It was fantastic, actually. Ear-plugs definitely helped (but then, I wore them in my NA too), especially on noisier sections of the M25. But most of the A303 was just a dream. Even had a nice wave with an Exige 350, too.
Even managed 30mpg (must try harder)!

I am very impressed and yes that would be great; hardly need an excuse to drive it

For just one day, I was a very lucky boy.
Sadly the 410 has to go, but thought they made for a wonderful/interesting comparison shot. 430 is truly amazing btw.

So I have now collected my GT430 and driven it for about 200 miles. What a difference to a "normal" Evora!
I loved my NA Evora; it was like a puppy; always happy and playful but maybe not fully developed. The GT410 was what the puppy became when it grew up; a working-line Labrador, brilliant at everything and wonderful to live with. The 430 though; it is like I've taken delivery of a pet cheetah that's permanently "hangry" .
The engine is angrier (the pick-up is amazing at all revs), the steering is immediate (is the wheel smaller, or does it just feel that way?), the ride is a bit stiffer but again it does that fabulous Lotus thing of improving with speed, the turn-in is amazing and the grip.....oh wow. It feels much, much quicker than the 410 on acceleration and corners bring out the g-monster in me.
It just feels so special; much more of a race-car, but amazing on-road as well. Maybe this is why guys wax lyrical about GT3s? I don't know (never had one), but goodness me the 430 is much more than just a halo car; it's a helluva car!
I'm blown away by how different it is to both my previous Evoras, but also how much better it is, too; incredible. As you rightly described it on your excellent YouTube buying guide Dr P: "a masterpiece".
