  1. After seeing the car in person, there is seriously something not right/suspect. The car seems to have been repainted(poorly), 25th year plates had been removed and poorly put back, fenders removed and poorly put back, inside front hood was dirty and rusted, all reflectors poorly spray painted black. Interior was not bad. Such a shame. BUYER BEWARE!!! There is something not right about this car that is supposedly suppose to have 23,000 for a 2002. My 94' S4 blew it away.
  2. Hello Everyone, i was wondering if anyone could give me any advice on what you think an honest sale value of this car would be? I am more familiar with the S4 values. http://www.autobydesign.com/vehicle-details/used-2002-lotus-esprit-v8-chantilly-va-id-17279639 thanks guys!
  3. Are you sure that this rubbing compound is not too harsh for the surface? I am so afraid to screw something up especially since the whole car needs it. I have never used a clay bar, is that a good option as well?
  4. Hello, After a trip to the beach, I got cought in the rain and I have since cleaned the car. I now have these stubborn water spots that are all over the car (barley visible at certain angles) but bothers the crap out of me. I have tried using a cleaner wax and a few other mild cleaners with no luck. It seems to be stained almost and no matter how hard i rub, they do not go away. Does anyone have suggestions for cleaning products that could help me out? Thanks so much, Nick 94' Esprit S4
  5. Well, this has turned into a really good thread. thanks guys! I ended up not taking the S4 on the trip and I was very happy I did not. I almost had to pull over three times because the rain was that bad and 4 of the guys in my group got hit with food poisoning and were up all night throwing up out of both ends. I ended up driving everyone home in my SUV. got lucky this time! and she is still in the garage all clean!
  6. Yeah, im not really too worried about driving it in the rain, I got caught once. I just dont know if the risk of rust and allllll the time cleaning is going to be worth it. I'm prob not taking it, but damn this rain!!! would have been alot of fun.
  7. whole group of buddies and GIRLS are headed to the beach this weekend but its calling for rain both days. is it worth it to give the car alot of exposure(lets not lie here, and myself! haha) and bear the rain for two days or forget about it? What damage might it do? I have never really tested out my shiny red wingman.
  8. although i hardly use either heat or air conditioning, it's getting quick cold here and i tried turning on the heat for the first time with no luck. I waited quite a while for it to heat up but it did not. the fan works great though. anything I should check first? thanks so much, -Nick
  9. Hey andy, i just changed all my lights over to LED on my 94' S4, I believe they are the same running lights. I ordered from superbrightleds.com they are in the US though... here are the product numbers I used: -Door lights 3610-x4 Red (2) -Overhead 4211-x6 Cool white (1) -Overhead 4211-x6 Red (1) -Reading, running WLED-x6 White (8) -Brake 1157-x24 Red (4) -Reverse,front blinker 1156-x24 White (6) -Fr/bonnet R/trunk 4410-x9 White (3) -Electronic LED flasher CF13GL-02 -Big gauges 4-LED BA9s -Small gauges 74-x LED Bulb -Rear wing N/A the electroninc flasher is located in the dash. kinda tricky to get off and on but it is a simple install. you just need to un plug the original one and plug in the new one. on ultraleds.com im pretty sure the 239's are all festoon bulbs that are not the correct replacement for the running lights. you should be looking at the 501's the 239's are for the interior lights. if you have any more questions feel free to ask. -Nick
  10. For my 1994 esprit s4 yes... they are typical 1157 dual contact bulbs. i bought them from superbrightleds.com here in the US. Product number: 1157-x24 Someone has informed me that they are not as bright during the day...i have not checked this out let, but i will soon and let you know. don't want to risk getting rear ended... if you want to change the turn indicators as well, you have to switch out the flasher in the dash..12 dollar part.
  11. thanks for that info, i think i am going to switch them out because of that. the flashers are bright as hell, aswell as the reverse lights. so i will keep them. thanks again
  12. tonight I replaced: -running side lights -rear brake lights (4) -turn indicators -reverse lights -door lights -interior ceiling lights -number plate lights -front and rear bonnet lights. overkill i know, but its been fun... I bought a few extra colors for the interior lights and changed the main light inside to red to match the car color. Looks really neat when it is dark out. For the reading lights which I never turn on, I changed to black lights haha. Looks so crazy inside when i am driving around with a white shirt on. Could not get a good picture though.... For the turn indicator lights I have to change the "LED Flasher Unit" in the binnacle. With the low current draw of the LED turn indicators, they do not work with ALL turn indicator LED lights installed. Although with only the two rear turn indicators LED, the turn signal goes twice as fast indicating there is a bulb out... I figured out the pin drop on the flasher unit after i took off the binnacle tonight and matched it to one of these: <a href="http://www.superbrightleds.com/flashers.htm" target="_blank">http://www.superbrightleds.com/flashers.htm</a> its the CF13GL-02 european model (have not tested yet) as for the reflector i have attached a picture of the brake lights fully on. in the picture the left is two red 24 LED 1157 brake lights from Superbrightleds.com and on the right are the original filament lights. The LEDs do look a bit dimmer, but i think my camera made the difference look greater between the two. Got this from the LED site i ordered from: Which Color LEDs should I use ? For best results the LED color should be the same as the lens color. As an example: a red lens will filter out all but the red portion of the light so if the light is all red, none or very little light will be blocked by the lens. The light from a White LED contains very little light in the red portion of the visible spectrum so most of the light would be filtered out by a red lens. now i am working on the fog lamps and trying to make all the guage lights a deep red as well... -Nick
  13. Hey Andy i know its been awhile since this post started, but I just started upgrading all of my lights to LED on my 94' S4. tonight I replaced: -running side lights -rear brake lights (4) -turn indicators -reverse lights -door lights -interior ceiling lights -number plate lights -front and rear bonnet lights. I bought a few extra colors for the interior lights and changed the main light inside to red to match the car color. Looks really neat when it is dark out. With the low current draw of the LED turn indicators, they do not work with ALL turn indicator LED lights installed. Although with only the two rear turn indicators LED, the turn signal goes twice as fast indicating there is a bulb out... I have not figured out the pin drop on the flasher unit yet but i plan to take off binnacle later tonight and try to match it to one of these: http://www.superbrightleds.com/flashers.htm as for the reflector i have attached a picture of the brake lights fully on. in the picture the left is two red 24 LED 1157 brake lights from Superbrightleds.com and on the right are the original filament lights. The LEDs do look a bit dimmer, but i think this is because i bought the red lights...might change them later on. I do also believe the reflectors do not spread the light as well as the filaments. CORRECTION: Which Color LEDs should I use ? For best results the LED color should be the same as the lens color. As an example: a red lens will filter out all but the red portion of the light so if the light is all red, none or very little light will be blocked by the lens. The light from a White LED contains very little light in the red portion of the visible spectrum so most of the light would be filtered out by a red lens. If you have any more questions, feel free to ask me, i will keep you updated with the turn indicator issue. -Nick
  14. saw a black v8 up the street from my house. luckily it was parked so i got a good look at it. this is the first one i saw in my area so i am very curious whos it is. it was at a car dealership, not sure if it was for sale though. the plate was "espritt"
  15. I ordered from Superbrightleds.com because there were many different bulb types and i dont think i could make all of them. maybe the festoons would be a good idea but i will check out the components when i get them ( prob monday ) and take pictures before and after and see what kind of quality they might be.
