Hello. Which part of the headlining do you mean. Sun visor housing or removable roof. If you mean the rear window in the cabin then yes. This can be done with no sewing. If you mean the rear window in the boot. I'm doing that in the next week or two along with the rest of the boot -

Fettle the appeature a mil or two then less step and the slack will be taken up if you go back to the sunroof by the thick seal. -
Sunroof rubber
mr.oogieboogie replied to ramjet's topic in Interior/Exterior/Lights/Glass/Alarms/ICE/HVAC
I'm pretty sure that when an esprit was supplied from the factory with a glass fibre roof the appeature was fettled to use a different seal. Going from glass fibre roof to glass roof is pretty easy as the large seal allows for any fettling that has occured. But going from a glass roof to a glass fibre one is quite different as there is very little height for a rubber seal even after adjusting the front tongues and back adjusters. A soft rubber seal does remove much of the creaking though. All the best -

Yes I recoloured the leather the other year. As the ivory was looking really dirty. I did the seats as well but white seats not practical. Also the carpets were a bit past their prime. So I replaced them along with the boot carpet. But I'm going to do the boot black. Not the grey ford transit headliner that's used -

Sun visors in. Composite roof on. Side rails in. Just need tof re-cover the roof appeature lip as the leather that was on the sun visor panel was thinner so it sat closer . Now you can see the body colour. Looks a lot better in the flesh. Will complete this weekend. Seats look and feel great -

Fuel filler flaps not working
mr.oogieboogie replied to kwandokun's topic in Interior/Exterior/Lights/Glass/Alarms/ICE/HVAC
there is a small spring where the fuel filler flap is if this becomes corroded the ends can break off and the flap will not (spring) open -

hello Jacques. i looked into it and I also looked into embossing & branding, but I decided to keep it plain, less is more sometimes and once the threads on embroidery begin to snag they look a mess. all the best -

hello Vanya. good to here from you. yep still alive, i hope you find a composite roof, i know when i was after one i had to get it from the usa. not too bothered about spraying the seats as the pipeing had started to wear , also keeping leather white was getting to be a pain as every item of clothing was leaving marks. all the best -

after test fitting the headrests i then began stripping the passenger seat:- which is a bit of a bastard. same steps mark up the leather and layout and transfer the markings , then cut. once the back and base were stitched these were test fitted separate. due to the course foam showing bumps around the bolsters as well as improving the fit and refurb the seat i used 6mm french foam on the seat. i also used elastic instead of the cotton material as this would make the fitting easier (pushing the material through and then cliping it to the seat back and seat base can be a bastard) and allow movement as well as being easier to tie off. covers were then sewn together and fitted and put in the car this morning. one seat down one to go the white seats i painted are starting to look tired. i could have got the seat to be a little tighter by using a steamer u i will let the seat settle 1st. total cost was around £30 mainly thanks to the free material and sewing.
