  1. Hi Marcus, I have seen your discs before and out of all the ones that I have seen out there yours were the closest to what I was looking for. The only thing that was holding me back was the fact that I didn't want to buy discs from an unknown manufacturer. As far as the dimensions they sound great and they look very nice in the pictures too. Steve doPorto
  2. If its not to much troube could someone please post the part #'s for the lights, looms and anything else that may be needed. Steve doPorto
  3. Is there anyone Located in Birmingham that would be willing to help me out and allow their car to be used to test fit the new discs and caliper brackets. I live in Canada and it would give me some piece of mind knowing that they will fit before everything gets shipped. The fronts are 330X32mm floating discs with 8 curved grooves and the rears are 320X28mm bolted discs with 4 curved grooves. The company that is making them is also making brackets for the front calipers to accommodate the 10mm larger diameter disc. If someone is willing to help me out they will also get a tour of the facility where they are being made along with some tea and cookies :-). Not to mention if you
  4. I would like to know how much the sport 350 wheels weigh and if anyone has some they would be willing to part with?
  5. I was told on a different forum that the OZ Nova's weigh 22.8 lbs for the front and 26.2 lbs for the rear. http://www.lotustalk.com/forums/f164/2002-esprit-rims-48172/
  6. I was really hoping that there was somewhere else to buy one of these steering wheels. I think that I would rather go with out, than buy one from TM. John if you ever want to sell your Carbon Fiber one let me know :-).
  7. Jim I tried to call the phone # listed on Tuning Zubehor's site and it says that the line has been disconnected. I also sent them an email so hopefully they are still in buisness and its just something with their phone. Not sure if you remember but I bought 2 or the adapter hubs off of you a while back but still haven't managed to track down a steering wheel.
  8. I am looking into buy a Raid airbag steering wheel and am wondering if anyone has a good suggestion of where to buy it. I know that TM Tuning sells them and was doing a Lotus discount. However, I had a fairly unpleasant experience with TM when I tried to order one from them. The only other place that I have seen them sold is at http://raid-rdi.com/ but they don't ship to North America. One other interesting thing that I found is that the same steering wheels are being sold under different names. One that I have seen in person is Dimex but they seem to be for Ferrari's. Steve
  9. Hi Dave, I drive the car on the track so I was looking more to improve the brakes rather than just replace, and going thinner than 32mm on the front is not even something that I would consider. I'm sure the brakes that you sell would be awesome for a street car and the price you
  10. Hi Dave, I was planning on having the bells made from scratch and as for the brackets I was going to run a spacer to account for the difference in the diameter of the front disc. From what I understand, the front AP calipers are designed to run a 330X32mm disc and that
  11. I have been looking into replacing the discs on my 2002 Esprit and have found that Lotus wants close to $2000 Canadian for EACH front disc. $2000 per disc seems quite steep even by Lotus standards so what I would like to do, is have some custom bells/hats made up that would fit discs, that AP Racing sells off the shelf saving me some money, and also making it possible to slightly upgrade the brakes. I would like to use a 330X32 mm floating disc for the front and 320X28mm disc for the rear. Another benefit would be that when it comes time for another disc replacement I could reuse the bells making it even less expensive. I know that other members have done this before and I was hoping that someone might have access to the spec drawings/blueprints for the front and rear discs. Please PM me with any info that you may have. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Cheers Steve doPorto
  12. What kind of rad are you going to put up front? I am doing a intercooler kit on my car and I'm not to happy with the rad that I got shipped with my kit so I'm looking for some new ideas. if anyone has any good recomendations let me know. I had some make mention of using the air conditioning rads for intercooling but I'm not sure if I want to live with out air. Then again I don't use it much but it still would be nice to see what other people have done. Pictures would be great. and sorry Wayne for getting a little off topic but I just had to ask.
  13. I always thought that Lotus was the end all be all when it came to suspension but now that I own a Lotus I am finding that there is a lot of room for improvement. My first shock came (no pun intended) when I discovered that my Esprit had decided to dump all the oil out of the front right shock. The worst part is that the car only had 2,000 km on it at the time. Having heard so much about the final edition Bilstein dampers and Eibach springs I upgraded to those and luckily it only cost me an arm and half a leg. They were a great improvement over the junk that Lotus put on my car originally. However, for the price I think that I should have gone to a Moton setup and I still might. I'll stop complaining about the shocks and get to the main reason that I am writing this post. One of my friends made up some upper and lower suspension arms for me that address the binding in the rear suspension. The binding occurs because the rear suspension moves in an arc due the radian arm but the rear arms only move up and down. This movement pinches the rear bushing. Here is a picture of the original lower right arm, as you can see the bushing got mangled because of the binding. Lotus knew there was a problem and released some poly bushings but this doesn't fix the problem it just masks it for a little longer than the stock rubber bushings. If anyone would like to buy my set of Lotus rear poly bushings let me know. They are still brand new in the bag. The new suspension arms that my friend made have hind joints on the outer end and a poly bushing on the inside. The hind joint allows some twisting that needs to happen and stops any binding. Here are some pictures of the new setup. There is no noticeable difference in road noise with the new arms and in regular driving the car seems to handle the same. I'm sure there will be a noticeable improvement when track driving because the suspension can now do what it was meant to do without fighting its self. One thing that my friend noticed is that with the old arms and the shock and spring removed it is very hard to move the rear suspension but with the new arms it moves freely. Installation of these arms took less than a half hour and I would highly recommend them.
  14. Gunter: I'm pretty sure that they use a piston but not 100% sure.... I'll let you know when I recieve them and look inside :-)
