  1. Got it! I continue to be awed by and grateful for the helpful, friendly nature of the folks at Lotus and their enthusiasm for the cars they build. Russel got back to me within minutes with the answer; can you name another car company where that would happen? I can't. Russel's reply is reprinted below: "I think the 2-11 in these conditions should be fine, you
  2. Del and Jo, Thanks for your posts. I tried guessing Russell's email address but struck out. Please PM me with it if you have it.
  3. I plan to run my 2-Eleven this weekend at Auto Club Speedway, which is a banked oval with a road course. The banking in the turns is 14 degrees and the front stretch is banked 11 degrees and is 3100 ft in length. Because we
  4. You're right! I had forgotten how this all started: I was about to pay $351 (plus tax and shipping) for the cap. I'm glad I checked 2-Eleven Forum first.
  5. Bibs, The part # you provided made an even bigger difference than I imagined; I gave it to my local dealer, who promised to check with Lotus USA. He called me back two days later and told me that I (more accurately, you) had accomplished something that Lotus themselves couldn't. He said that Lotus was chagrined and wanted to make up for it by sending me the cap for free. It arrived yesterday and is by all rights yours. I shall keep it safely attached to my fuel tank until you arrive. 2-Eleven forum is an invaluable resource. I upgraded my subscription this morning in appreciation of the help it has provided me on numerous occasions. At less than half the cost of the filler cap it's a real bargain. Thanks again. And thanks to Lotus for being a company with a heart and a soul. They may miss the occasional part number but every time I have needed help, large or small, they have come through with support that was beyond my expectations. They build an amazing car and wear their enthusiast's heart on their sleeve, Norm
  6. My fuel filler cap apparently came loose and bounced off during a recent track session. Subsequently, I met another 2-Eleven owner who experienced the same problem; I'd like to know if anyone else has. Lotus does not sell the cap separately; you also must buy the entire filler neck assembly, which costs $351. Given that the side mirrors are just stock Yamaha motorcycle mirrors, I wonder if perhaps the filler cap is also a stock motorcycle part. Anyone know?
