Hi, i have a feeling that the alarm systems where fitted at the dealers by a qaulified cobra or thatham aproved mechanic (tech) normally during the PDI the pre delivery inspection ie number plates fitted, alarm, check everything ok for the new customer ( A BRAND SPANKING NEW ESPRIT WHAT A DREAM! )maybe in my next life! thats my theory because it happens at other dealers,not so much now though because there are a lot of factory fitted alarms as standard now. well thats my theory anyway as for the engine numbers have not got a scoobys!

Hi, the oil filter on these cars are a nightmare and yes it seems the filters dont fit properly now, i know there was a post on lotus esprit world about about it because there had been complaints to parts suppliers about the filters and lotus looked into but found no problems, report it to lotus esprit world and see what they say.As for the filter on my s3 it was a knightmare to change last time and i now use a filter strap to remove and refit the filter because the oil filter also holds the oil cooler housing adaptor on so if its not tight enough you sometimes could get a leak!
