As I am slowly sorting the main issues on the TE, be prepared to read some rant about minor issues that are buggering:

When I turn the left temp control knob clockwise to the fully cold position, it will not stop at the end of the blue mark, but will travel further until it reaches the beginning of the red mark. The same applies to the right knob with the air distribution control. Is this a TADTS?

Is there a setting where I can get warm air to the footwells? I can get plenty of warm air distributed to the screen and the face vents, but my feet (actually the feet of my GF) will still be cold...

Sounds like the knobs have spun round on the hexagonal shafts (which are 1/4 inch allen key shaped)

There's a spring loaded locating pin on the shaft which locates with a hole in the knob.

Maybe the plastic knob has worn and is loose on the shaft.

Try this at your own risk.

Wrap a thin layer of tin foil on the shaft.

Fill the knob shaft hole with araldite. Fit knob to shaft in alignment with heater position graphics.

The araldite should harden to give you a tight fit on the shaft and prevent rotation.

Just be careful you don't get a hole in the tin foil or you'll glue the knob to the shaft.

Nope.

I have checked this first. The knobs are keyed and will fit only in this position. :harhar: So I am the only one who has this problem...

Hi,could be you have the same problem as me.When you set the knob to" interior" it operates a valve that opens the floor vent flap,or supposed to,I have been trying on and off for years to make it work. The vacuum system is fine as it operates the fresh air flap and therefore has no leaks but try as I may it still leaves the GF with cold feet.I can operate it manually behind the glove box (yoga exercises required first) but cant keep it in the right position.I also had to play around with the knobs to get them in the right (almost) positions.Hope this is of some help!

Cheers Paul.
