Some odd behaviour

Ok. So the car has been off the road for a bit while I fixed things up. All that has been done bar replacing some parts at the top of the shocks on all 4 corners.

So here is the new thing that is happening. Start the car. All is good, except the interior fan does not come on and the ABS doesn't cycle. Then, all of a sudden after an arbitrary amount of time, the Anti-Lock light extinguishes and the fan comes on. All other 12V systems appear to be unaffected.

I can think of nothing that I have done that would cause this and no, it didn't use to do this before.

If anyone has any ideas for me to follow up on, that would be great.

Bad earths are notorious for causing all sorts of wierdness, especially on fibreglass cars. 😞

Hmm you may have a relay thats getting tired ?

I’d be going thru the wiring diagrams seeing what links those two items together. I’m thinking a bad earth.

I had already thought relay as well John. 

As Simon said, I'll dig out the wiring diagrams and try and trace both possibilities.

I had a problem where my interior fan wouldn't spin, and it would blow the fuse.

It was the old grease on the motor shaft!  It was too old and sticky, the motor would overload trying to spin the fan, and then pop the fuse. It might be loading the system, and it doesn't have enough amps until the ABS pump is done...

I took the car up To Steve Taylor's yesterday and the car did it again in the morning. Once it sorted itself out, it didn't do it again.

Have still got to get the wiring diagrams out and go through it.

I'm thinking bad earth as well.
