Hofmanns have the absolute pleasure of offering for sale this stunning, 1998 Elise MMC finished in Azure blue metallic.  Coming complete with its original, and now very desirable & hard to find Metal Matrix Composite (MMC) brakes and having covered an exceptionally low 16009 miles in its 20 year life, this really is a true classic that will no doubt increase in value.

Accompanied by a very comprehensive history folder which dates right back to 1998 and includes the certificate of conformity issued by Lotus, this just goes to add to the provenance of this special little car from Norfolk.  The only upgrade to this vehicle over and above standard is a Larini Club-Sport exhaust system and the much improved 52mm throttle body, both of which were fitted in 2016.

The Lotus Elise is a two-seat, rear-wheel drive, mid-engined roadster conceived in early 1994 and released in September 1996 by the British manufacturer Lotus Cars. The series 1 Elise had a hand-finished fibreglass body shell atop its bonded extruded aluminium chassis that provided a rigid platform for the suspension, while keeping weight and production costs to a minimum. It is capable of speeds up to 240 km/h (150 mph

When originally conceived and released, the Elise was supplied with Metal Matrix Composite (MMC) brake discs in combination with specific MMC brake pads. In general it is agreed that an MMC brake setup provides excellent brake performance and feel along with also being extremely light, reducing the unsprung weight of each wheel. Later cars came with standard steel discs making these early cars with their correct brakes highly desirable.

For more information or to arrange a viewing please don’t hesitate to call one of the Sales team here at Hofmann’s.

All vehicles supplied through Hofmann’s have funding options available, are all warranted and part exchanges welcome.
