Roadster Speed limiter

Hi guys, I’ve spoken with Komotec today who say they are unable to remove this. Does anyone know of anyone who’s successfully had this done. Do the new roadsters still have it?

The car is hard coded to the ECU as a Roadster. It must be reprogramed to a Coupe to remove the speed limit. That's something not even a Lotus dealer can do. 

New Roadsters still have this limit. So probably only Lotus itself could help you.

Buy a new coupe ECU.....

Well, Lotus is not going to help you, they coded this on purpose, so as mentioned, new ECU ...

I very much doubt Lotus would sell you a new ECU.

will a coupe ECU be plug and play or will their be coding needed as well?

I have the quilted leather in my coupe. It’s not heated though 😳

Roadster to Coupe ECU is not quite plug and play.  We did it for a track car, but it wasn't exactly trivial.  There are forms and signatures, then you have to reconfigure the new ECU to match the old one.

Not many opportunities to exceed 140mph that warrant it, even on track.  As @GFWilliams said, if you want all the OEM track toys, trade it for the right car!

Thanks Dave, it’s more eurotrips than track work for me. I was looking at the komotec path or TVS1900 but not with the limiter issue.

The upgrades aren't (only) about top speed, it's how you get there!

Morning Dave, is it possible to buy the 370/390 For DIY install and what would the costs be?

trying to decide between these and the 2bular EPK.

Hi Mike.

It can be done, yes, but be aware you need to purchase the programming lead (£300+VAT), and obviously if we haven't installed it, there are limited amounts of free support we can give you.
