Service Schedule Question

So, 1st service with the Evora is due with myself.

I've been fully documenting the S/H, which is nicely thorough (always good to see). However, I'm confused as to what's due when! I've been through all the history, and I've got 8 services/stamps done in total, which is correct for a 2010 car, and by this record, my next service should be the 9th for it. However, the previous stamp was "7th Service (63k)" which I believe should have been the 8th, the the one before that was "6th Service" which should have
been the 7th?

Realistically it doesn't matter, as what should be done, and when, is absolutely spot on, assuming I'm correct with the below additional work? So am I correct that other than the usual yearly, I'm looking at:
- Air Filter 4 years
- Brake Fluid 2 years
- Pollen Filter 2 years
- Gearbox oil 4 years
- Spark Plugs @ 50k.

I've also got it in the back of my head that there is a belt that should be replaced at some point? Aux belt? Although the book doesn't state it, is this a late revision by Lotus?

Not really; I too received the e--mail from PJS Sports Cars. I think it's great that this dealer is being proactive.

The message states that Lotus have recently added two additional operations to the vehicle maintenance schedules for Evora and Exige V6; changing the aux belt every 4 years/every 36k miles instead of on condition and the TMPS sensors every 5 years/45000 miles instead of when faulty.

My Launch Edition is coming up to 10 years old in September and the aux belt and TMPS sensors are okay (touch wood). I see this as preventative maintenance, just like changing a timing belt every 5 years regardless of condition (I'm glad that the 2GR-FE has timing chains).

See the above my 2010 was serviced last week and central lotus didn’t advise me on the above and they knew about my faulty TPMS valve

i bought an aux belt on eBay this week for £50 as it’s retail price is £150

i was told the first service stamp is not counted so if you have 8 it’s really 7 and on the 8th it’s a big service ie spark plugs ?

Ah, that would make sense!

Spark plugs have already been done last year, so that's ticked off, but I can't find any reference to the aux belt being changed, so I'd better ask about that one....have you got a link to the one from eBay?

Here is the number I am sure the eBay listing stated he had a couple ?

I used Redline MTL 75W80 GL4 fully synthetic  when I changed my transmission oil. I have the CR box in my 2010 NA. Opie oils recommend it as it improves the gear change, and I think it does.

That will probably be OK on an NA, but on an S you really want the Gator belt.

The belt change at 4 years is a recent addition to the service schedule.

That is the spec oil for an NA (albeit semi-synth), but again the S needs a slightly higher HD spec.

Which oil do you recommend Dave?

On the S cars we use Motul 300, as when you look at the detail of the spec, there aren't many out there that match it.

On an NA, there would be no harm at all using the higher spec, but I'd be interested to see whether the MTL worked well (it's not one we have tried), as the RedLine works well in the C64 gearbox on the 2ZZ cars.

Do I trust a random eBay person (who usually sells womens clothes, it seems) who's randomly selling unpackaged, seemingly unbranded belts? :D

Now't wrong with carrying a pair of womens stockings in the car to replace the fan belt if it breaks

Not yet received the belt but then I wouldn’t know if the belt is for Nissan Micra ?

I am just trusting the seller is genuine ?

Also, while I'm here - CMC are recommending 85w90 gearbox oil, where as on here people tend to be going for 75w90.

Isn't 85w gonna be a bit difficult when cold?

It was always liked to be warmed up before the gear change eased up. If I recall correctly Jez at Back on a Track used the original oil at the year 4 service but pretty sure he put the specs on the invoice. Might want to take a look at that to see what it was, but I agree I wouldn’t want a thicker oil at cold temps.

Blessed with the competence to be a slave to the incapable.

Currently without a Lotus, Evora 400 Hethel Edition in Racing Green with Red leather and 2010 Evora N/A in Laser Blue and 1983 Lotus Excel LC Narrow body in Ice Blue all sadly gone.

Mine's a 2011 S so may be slightly different servicing requirements to yours, but...

- Gearbox oil I was recommended to do every 2 years (every year if lots of track driving) and I'm using the Red Line fully synthetic (MTL 75W-80 GL4) as that's what Opie Oils recommended - interested to read Hanger111 suggesting the Motul 300 so will look into that

- Brake fluid I was recommended to do every year

- Coolant isn't on your list and is every 4 years
