2003 V8, brembo rear pad replacement in progress -

I purchased Hawk HB278F pads, they are .614" thick and with the caliper piston screwed all the way in, the combination of the two are about 0.100" too thick and will not fit over the rotor.

Is this the right set of pads? It looks like the piston is nearly all the way in (and clearly stops going in, although continues to turn..)

As far as I know 03"s were fitted with AP racing brakes

The rear's are still the same brembo caliper (same as the elise rear). AP didn't do a suitable caliper with handbrake.

I had this when I fitted some Hawk pads. Although I've got rotors from PNM fitted which are a couple of mm thicker. You can just sand the pad material down a little.....

EBC make different thickness pads in a variety of compounds. If you look at their website and compare Esprit Brembo and Elise rear pads you'll see the difference.

I have the EBC yellow pads on the front & rear of my Esprit. I like them better thanthe OEMs
