Following the Spanish Grand Prix trip in 2017 and the Austrian Grand Prix last year, I'm planning to drive my Elite to the Hungarian Grand Prix in August. However the trip last year was pretty horrible (through Belgium, Luxembourg and Germany) until we got into Austria where we had some enjoyable mountain driving.

Route options this year are either to extend the Austrian route, heading towards Budapest via Graz, or find an alternative. I'm not necessarily looking for fast driving roads, but quiet ones and aim to do 400-500km per day.

Does anybody have any ideas about routes to take that miss a lot of the heavy traffic in Benelux and Germany?
