Open gear linkage - lubricate?

Does anyone with the open gear linkage tend to lubricate any of the moving joints inbetween services? I’m assuming it sees some form of lubrication at a service?

Also, how much slack/play should there be front to back when in neutral? I feel the need to tinker.

I don't believe there is any need to, so wouldn't start trying to add dust attractors unless you're having problems.

Very little play in mine fore/aft when in neutral, but if it's not a problem I'm not sure I'd go looking for problems in it and buggering it up, only adjustment I needed to make after a bit was the reverse lock out as others have done

They are actually all nylon bushings, which generally don't like grease.

If you have the choice between a Stairway to Heaven and a Highway to Hell don't forget the Nomex®!
