Hi,

It turns out the rear brake calipers are shot on my S3 Turbo preventing the handbrake from working (the last thing required for the MOT!), does anybody have a spare set lying around they are willing to sell to me?

Many thanks,

Brent.

I have got a pair of Girling rear calipers with recent new seals from a 1981 S3 sitting on a shelf in my shed.

If they will fit on your car (not sure what year yours is) then they are up for grabs.

You can often get them unstuck..what seems to happen is that the plain bearing on the operating arm gets corroded and won't move. It can be dismantled, lubricated, and unstuck...result: a working handbrake. Also the cables themselves are sometimes sticky causing the self adjusting mechanism to cease functioning. You may not need to replace the calipers!! I always work on the basis that if I have to change them anyway, anything I do to try and fix them doesn't matter and might work...Good luck!!
