Ferrari hasn't all gone Chinese has it and started just ripping off other peoples designs? Next it will be menu pricing....  "Hello, is that Maranello?, Yes, oh great, could I have number 38 please with options 7, 9, 11, 36, 48, 69, 82, 83 and 97 please? Oh, it'll be here in 20 minutes. Great stuff...."

I came into this world screaming and covered in someone elses blood. I'll probably leave it in the same way.

I confess I don’t see it.  Now the Alpha 4c on the other hand.........

Blessed with the competence to be a slave to the incapable.

Currently without a Lotus, Evora 400 Hethel Edition in Racing Green with Red leather and 2010 Evora N/A in Laser Blue and 1983 Lotus Excel LC Narrow body in Ice Blue all sadly gone.

Responses so far have been relatively kindly - what would the Playground have said - but as the poster has just joined and made a first post, gentle treatment is the most friendly course. An MP's maiden speech is traditionally listened to with respect after all. Encouragement to make more detailed assessments, perhaps, although Tingrin does have some basis for his comment.  Look at the four wheels, similarly positioned, the two doors, the air intakes at the front and over the rear wheels, an exhaust out the back, I shouldn't wonder.

I, for one, would welcome another post from you, Tingrin.  Many of us are trying to while away the minutes until next month when we should learn of Lotus's plans for the future.  Anything original - your point was that, in spades - would be welcome.  In fact I'm beginning to wonder if you may be ahead of most posters here - have you had sight of the new Evora? Now that would be something !

Having said that, I can't quite dismiss the thought that you may be a joker with a sophisticated sense of humour - throw a stone in the pond and see what the crowd here are made of.......hmmm......Tin-grin.........hmm.

Anyway, welcome!

@TINGRIN did you know that both McLaren and Ferrari bought an Evora and used it as their handling benchmark. For McLaren it was for the MP4 12C, for Ferrari I believe it was the F430.  So maybe not a strange coincidence re the looks?

Ain't it strange that, as you grow older your tastes and appreciation of things change...10 years ago I wouldn't have taken a second look at a car like this, now I find them absolutely beautiful.

No insights! but I love my 2014 Evora it’s a beautiful car. I find it so far ahead of its time considering the original design started back over ten years ago. Now you have a supposedly new Ferrari design that looks as if it took a lot of its design cues from the Evora.

OK lets not beat Tingrin up to much as there is a styling queue used by Ferrari on the 812, that is the same as the Evora. Yes its not an F8 but the EVORA had it first, and it looks great on the LOTUS but looks awkward on the 812, The venting over the rear wheels

No probs if not easily accessible, but do you have a reference for this? Absolutely love it if true 👍🏼

I wouldn't go as far as calling it a copycat, but I too see some resemblance. So I shouldn't be surprised that the F8 is the first Ferrari in many years I actually kinda like the looks of.

Filip

I have made many mistakes in my life. Buying a multiple Lotus is not one of them.

I think it looks more like its taken some styling ques from the one off 458MM they did which at the time was cited numerous times as having similar lines as the evora.

I don't like the roof line of the Evora. !!!

There, I said it...

Are the design team at Lotus dwarfs and umpa lumpas? Can the clay sculptors not reach the roof? Have they not got ladders or steps?

What a beautiful thing the Evora is up to 3ft from the ground, it equals or even betters the Ferrari's, then it all goes pear shaped, or totally unshaped I should say, those gorgeous flowing curves of arches, waistline and intakes not carried on above the sliced flat line of glass, then with what looks more like a lid than a roof. Compare this to those Ferrari's pictured here, we are so near yet so far.

Your thoughts, (flack anticipated)

I agree the roof line is to high and as Ive said its Mike Kimberley's fault being so tall. I didn't consider the EVORA on styling grounds alone roof and nose until I saw a 400 with a Black pack and that interested me enough to revisit the EVORA and the reviews changed my mind, in fact Evora look their best with black roof's or dark colours.

Having said that I get so many great comments about about how good the car looks and I love the fact its not an Italian clone..
