Evora NA 2010 - What exhaust do I have?

Recommended Posts

Hi all,

Recently picked up my NA 2010 LE Evora, very happy boy!

Want to give it a tad more noise and I'm a little confused as to which exhaust I have and which decat pipe I need/if it's worth it

2010 NA LE Evora, twin pipe exhaust

It has the twin pipe exhaust (included with the sports pack) , how do I tell if this is the sports exhaust? Is it if the tips are burnt or not?

I've read that doing the 3rd CAT decat on the standard exhaust isn't worth it but noticeable on the sports exhaust

LE will have the standard slashed tipped exhaust unless it has been changed. The Lotus sport exhaust has blue tips, but the blue can be polished off. The Sports exhaust has Janspeed branding on the can.

Blessed with the competence to be a slave to the incapable.

Currently without a Lotus, Evora 400 Hethel Edition in Racing Green with Red leather and 2010 Evora N/A in Laser Blue and 1983 Lotus Excel LC Narrow body in Ice Blue all sadly gone.

Okay, thanks for the info

Pretty sure I've just got the standard exhaust so a decat pipe isn't worth it from what I've read here

The standard exhaust is *really* quiet. So you should be able to tell from the lack of noise !

Hmmm it's not "really "quiet.. not to my ears anyway

I'll have a look tonight see if I can find Janspeed on it, fingers crossed!

That definitely isn't the stock exhaust. It also sounds pretty nice on that video - why change it?

There's no drama when you lift off, no pops, cracks or gurgles..

I think for crackles you need to remove one of the cat stages.

Easiest and cheapest will be 3rd cat removal. Possibly one which gives best results is change the headers to remove the pre cats and maybe even replace 3rd cat with sports cats.

If it helps I believe I have the sports exhaust on my 2010 NA car. This is what’s stamped on it.

100 percent not standard! sounds louder than my sports exhaust with 3rd cat delete so your probably has a de cat already? what's the e class like as a family wagon by the way? i am tempted by one!

Anyone know what the sound difference is like on :

1) lotus sports exhaust with 3rd cat delete

vs

2) 2bular non valved (which I believe comes with 3rd cat delete)

I had a sports with a 3rd cat delete and sounded ok but needed more bark. Got a new 2bular non valved with 100mm tips with 3rd cat delete and the sound is awesome and about to change the air intake with a RAMAIR cold air kit. There is a video on my Evora project file with the 2bular.
