evora shift cable

2011 Evora, stiff shifting; dealer lubricated cable, worked for a short time. Purchased a new shift cable, assuming an improved design, it resists going into reverse. How can the problem, be resolved?

You may just need correct adjustment if the stiffness has gone.

It's easy enough to do at the gearbox end, but you do need to understand how the selector works.  The cross gate cable adjustment is key to slotting in the selector pin. Check the manuals.

I had the same 2 problems with mine. I lubricated the cables with a sandwich bag and some engine oil (the cable run is near the exhaust and the heat drives off the light oils making it stiff) and had to wind the cross cable end by a turn to make it go smoothly into reverse (the cable had stretched slightly).
