Evora parts source

Hello Lotus fans!

I am a newbie for Lotus and desided to go for an Evora immediately after my first testdrive. One of the reasons beside the gorgeous handling is the fact that I searched for an exotic car not driving me into the situation of paying horrendous prices for parts. So I like that Lotus is using lots of high volume parts you cab source for reasonable money.

What about creating a list of parts sources for the Evora? I guess there are many people knowing where some of the parts are sourced from.

As far as I know so far is just that the:

- door pulls are the outside door handels of a Honda Civic

- Mirror switch comes from a Ford Focus

but I am sure that there are LOTS more parts which probably could save you a lot of money if you need to replace them if you know the origin?

Would be cool if we could create a list with your combined knowledge!

Best Regards,

Lupoletto

Door pulls are not from a civic. The engine is from a rav4 in the us so there are several part cross references on the net. A part cross reference data base like the esprit guys have would be useful.

It goes with the Mk1 Focus indicator/wiper stalks...

The best one though is the numberplate lights for the S1 Elise, which you can't even see, which were Rolls Royce parts - surely there were cheaper / less exotic possibilities !

...... and the only thing that has ever left me stranded in an Evora. Damn thing gave up the ghost when the 400 was 6 months old so had the alarm going off in the car park to a work conference whilst the AA tried to sort it. Only avoided a flat bed home due to the sterling efforts of @Bibs.

Blessed with the competence to be a slave to the incapable.

Currently without a Lotus, Evora 400 Hethel Edition in Racing Green with Red leather and 2010 Evora N/A in Laser Blue and 1983 Lotus Excel LC Narrow body in Ice Blue all sadly gone.
