Lotus 2GR-FE

Hello everyone, i have a Cosworth 2GR-FE V6 out of a 2013 Lotus Evora. I have an engine shop in the north east and a customer bought this car to road race with a smoking issue. He didn't get any paper work on the engine and of course i have to figure out what the cam timing is suppose to be along with what it takes for lash. I`ll give you a run down on the engine, 3.705 bore, 3.040 stroke, billet crank (possible Swindon crank) Swindon H beam rods, new CP three ring pistons, (old pistons only 2 rings) CNC ported heads, custom mechanical roller cams with vct`s on all cams, dry sump system. I do not have the intake with me. The only numbers on the back of the cams, P001 IN & P101EX. Cosworth , Swindon and the track group will not give out any info. I`m basically going to set the cams back the same way when i took it apart since it is using the vct gears. I need to know what lash i should be shooting for. It has shims under the solid lifters and lash caps. According to the customer, this engine puts out 440HP 324TQ. any help would be appreciated.

They did 2 specs of engine.

GLA and GLB

From what I remember,  the original A spec only had one set of pistonrings and burnt oil like it was going out of fashion. The GLB spec engine had multiple rings on each piston. Sure there were a few other tweeks they did on the later B spec also.

Give Phil Hurn a ring at 24/7 Motorsport here in the UK,  he worked at both Lotus Motorsport and Stratton Motorsport during the period they ran these engines. I saw him post a picture on IG the other day of him doing a project with one of the GLB spec engines.
