Its Just not the same and I dont like it

Well,

Ive been and done another few hundred miles this weekend, got the new ssteeel clutch pipe in and changed the linkages over and the car is fantastic, runs perfect, turbos great, handles well, not a mark on it, mint paint work, mint inside, new tyres, its everything anyone who wants a perfect condition Lotus esprit S3 turbo could ever dream for but I have a problem.

Its red...

I just miss my white one and I want it back, yea I know it was a pain in the rear and broke down everyday but it was white and it was an S1.

Im just not happy with it being red. Anyone got a 100% perfect white turbo they want to swap for my red one?

Daft I am but I just cant get along with this red colour!

I've seen this car, and it's very nice BTW ;)

Get it sprayed Marc, after all, you are in it for the long haul,

the car is what you want, and a white original will have crazing

and chips here and there anyway.

If you really gotta have white (and even i think your car looks ace as-is),

then why not paint? TBH when i had a G-car EVERYONE said 'Bond' even

though it was red. It's the shape they remember.

the mirror image of that car is sitting in my garage now. i really discourage you from painting it until the crazing sets in. i've never seen a paintjob last on these cars when driven, so you'll have to do it eventually. plus, a fair quality recolor requires you remove the old paint. would cost me $4K conservatively to do it right. if you really want to take that kind of a loss, i'll buy the car from you pound for pound. i need to keep a car on the continent for mille miglia.

My car was originally black and the previous owner had it sprayed white. I didnt know this until I noticed the factory colour code didnt match the exterior colour.I have since repainted it again as I am a perfectionist. Have yours painted bya good ,but fair price body shop(maybe other forum members could reccomend one in your locale) Worked once on a Lamborghini Espada that had been painted 10 times each time a different colour! The cars owner liked people to think he had bought a new car every yr( 2 paintjobs one yr. !) Know what you mean about the colour, I couldnt live with a red Esprit( sorry red Esprit forum members) ;)

sorry. i was being deliberately ambiguous. much like when bond thwarted an assailant by electrocuting him in the bath, then uttered, "shocking".

here is a car i nearly bought recently. i drove out to see it on high recommendation. the car drove better than mine, but it had been hurriedly resprayed without removing the old paint. i'd have had to figure in another half the asking price, to fix the finish. the black interior isn't a good choice in my climactic region either.

if you've got garaging space, i recommend you just buy another one in white. but if the red one is truly cramping your style, then i'll take it at a bargain. seems a shame for you to blow a mint on an unnecessary paintjob. i was actually shopping for an S1 or S2, but the S3s are very near as stylish and far less trouble. if you learn to compromise, your cash will go further and you'll be happier.

yeah, i was disappointed. they claimed it was original paint, yet you could make out the spider veining underneath. the service records were complete though, and the rebuild was done by a reputable local shop.

3200 quid for my perfect S3 turbo with 16k worth of bills of recent work done, 12months MOT and 6 months tax,

umm let me think about that, or shall I call a doctor for you as you must be on drugs?

Or did you mean you will sell me your perfect white RHD turbo esprit for 3200 quid, cause if thats the case I will buy it and definatly take some drugs to calm down

Been done (See Karl) :D
