Thinking of getting satin black vinyl around the front intake grills like on a 380 but not sure if it will go well with the colour... It's partly for looks and partly for protection 😀

Any opinions welcome!

  • 2 weeks later...

Managed to compress some pics of the car in stock state. Wouldn't of gone for the colour by choice but now I love it, although it's a dirt and chip magnet!

Booked in on Thursday for springs and tyres 😁

Initial little bits of wrap, partly for cosmetics, partly for protection.

Another little mod which I'm pleased with inspired by kungfu panda was blacking out the exhaust, enter the BBQ paint! 🤣 but with mine I just did the recessed area... Quite like it! Until I can afford a 2ubular...

To help with my road rash issue I've ordered some Dr colour chip, if all the YouTube vids are to be believed it's pretty impressive... I still can't believe how many nicks there are in a car that's only done 4k. My daily is a highly modded stage 3 Mini Coupe with 300 ponnies, it's done 67k and has less damage 😂

Imteresting.  You’ve added-back a few grams of paint that Lotus “saved” in their “lightweight lab” (cost saving).  The original Exige pig-snout was intenally painted black from the factory 🙂

New tyre's are on, I eventually bowed to pressure 🤣 despite being confident in the Yokohama's as I've had them on my precious car for the last 4 years, I managed to track down a set of Cup 2s for just £20 quid more for the set... I must say I'm very impressed with the performance, it feels like all the power is going directly into the tarmac. Car feels really glued down, that along with a lower centre of gravity after the Komotec Eibach springs and it makes for fantastic results. Really happy!

Interestingly you would have the same burnt in black color here if you simply drive the car for some weeks  ;)

Well, I've done 600 miles in 2 weeks of ownership so not doing too bad but I'm far too OCD not to clean it after every trip out! 🤣

Thanks mate! I'm pleased with the way it looks and performs so far. It wouldn't of been my first choice colour but now I really like it and get lots of comments 😁 I've been on a similar journey with my other car and know what you mean about it being a slippery slope! 🤣 I wanted to stay away from major mods for a while as I've still got 2 year's warranty at the moment and wanted to get more confident in the car first. Also, this has been a top end purchase for me so funds have to be taken into consideration too. Having said that, next up is some more wrap work, I think I'm gonna get the tail blacked out as well as possibly the centre of the rear spoiler. Plus I was thinking of having some yellow accents on a few of the details... I've got the induction kit ordered from Imran, other possibilities are a 380 style splitter/sills and fin, lightweight battery and a stereo upgrade. Power and suspension upgrades could be down the line but not for a while yet 😁

Oh and a 2ubular for defo, although I can't decide which model yet!

If you want to take it on track just chop the pig snout off and weld on new tips as I did. Makes it sound so much better but allows you onto tracks....

Nope! Have you thought about silver?

God doesn't want me, and the Devil isn't finished with me yet.

The small print.

My comments and observations are my own, invariably "tongue in cheek", and definitely, sarcastic in nature. Therefore, do not take my advice, suggestions, observations or posts seriously or personally and remember if you do, do anything, that I may have suggested, then you have done this based solely on your own decision to do so and therefore you acknowledge responsibility and accountability (I know, in this modern world these are the hardest things for you to accept) for your actions and indemnify me of any influence, responsibility, accountability, or liability, in what you have done. In other words, you did it, so suffer the consequences on your own!

The main inspiration was based on the Lotus badge and the fact I think I'm going to have the callipers done yellow.

I had thought about a mid to light grey...
