reverse lights

I just replaced my rear rotors and pads today. Now my reverse/backup lights remain on in all gears. Any ideas on how to fix this or what caused it. They could have been on for a long time and I just now noticed. Actually someone driving by told me.

There should be a switch mounted on the side of the gearbox,

this will have a couple of wires going to it. CAREFULLY pull the

spade crimps off the switch (so the spades of the switch don't

snap - if you can).

Does the light go out?

Touch the two ends together.

Does the light come on?

If so the switch is knackered. It just unscrews (is above gearbox oil level),

and then just screw a new one in. Could be something else,but this same

thing happened on my S3.

Maybe you knocked it, or have somehow got the two contacts to touch?
