2010 S launch edition.

HI I'm going to view the one in the link below today and want to check what I should be looking out for.

Gear linkage?  How do I check.

Gearbox noise low gears/low speed

Airbag lifted

  • Just another great reason to buy an NA!

  • 🤦‍♂️

  • In my experience too bloody much Barry! I'll have had this one for 25 years on Tuesday, the math is bloody scary but I reckon the equivalent of an original LeMans GT40 car!

Looks a nice car, its had 19,20 later wheels fitted, airbag as lifted as you can see in the picture’s, as for gear linkage if it drops into gear easy there is no problem there, MY12 gear cables are better but all previous gear linkage where not bad, you tend to get a little gear box noise on most Evora’s at low speed, good luck with viewing 👍

Thanks.  The airbag is dash out right?

They have had the car for months so not sure on the status of the battery.  If they have let it go low, I thought I'd heard that it causes engine light and other issues.  Is that true?

Thx

Yes it’s dash out to repair, it’s not to bad I have seen worse, yes a flat battery can sometimes bring the air bag warning light on.

Ok saw the car and it’s nice but does have issues

boot only opens from cable under back seat

rear tyres need replacing

yellow traction light on. What could that be?  Abs sensor?

likely cost of fixing boot and traction issue?

they want 36500.
Is 32k too much of an insult?

Just my humble opinion

I paid under £29k for my NA from snows nearly 2 years ago ( 30k mileage) and I didn’t get Sports button so £36k for 2010 NA seems a little high ????

The one I'm looking at is an S They're asking 36495 but with those issues, Boot, TC light and rear tyres.  Was thinking of £32k offer.  Does that seem like I'm trying to take the piss?

Sure’ll if I could get it for 32k that would be a bargain. Even with the niggles.

it also appears to have lacquer peeling a little from one headlight.

You are almost taking your way out of buying it  by listing all its issues ?

the things are Not major fix issue if I was buying from lotus dealer ? However I skipped a decent car from a Land Rover dealer to purchase from Snows which meant a 400 mile round trip but it got me piece of mind !
I don’t know the dealership but if your local it makes it easier to sort any problems . Are you getting a warranty ?

maybe if you stick a slightly whacky offer and see if they bite ? It’s coming up to Xmas and car sales slow down for few months ? Dealer Might say Let get it off the forecourt before Xmas ?

They’re selling on behalf of someone so would have no warranty.  It’s 9 years old.  One can’t expect for as car of that age.

Just make a bloody offer of £32k if you're happy to pay that and walk away if dealer says no. Stop debating, just do it... It's a car, not a potential life partner...

In other words, you did it, so suffer the consequences on your own!

But which would have given you more bang for your buck and also made the best noise? 🤯

I wonder if Gteknik do a ceramic coating for life partners and what impact it would have on the market when moved on? Would it help with the depreciation and show the previous owner was careful and considerate?

To get back on topic, was the 32k offer made and accepted/rejected on that Evora?

Surely a full body wrap is a better option?!

Moot point surely

Blessed with the competence to be a slave to the incapable.

Currently without a Lotus, Evora 400 Hethel Edition in Racing Green with Red leather and 2010 Evora N/A in Laser Blue and 1983 Lotus Excel LC Narrow body in Ice Blue all sadly gone.
