Exciting, if a little sad for the end of life announcement as well, but these things must happen!  It also means that the new model can't be too long behind the end of life, else Lotus will not have any cars to sell ! !

So, in that picture, is one of the covered cars Evija or is it showing 3 new plus Evija? I ask as the one nearest to Evija, does look to have the same headlights??

You can see some details coming through here. All cars seem to have a similar front end aero package to the Evija and power/battery looks to be mid mounted looking at the side air intakes.  All cars have Becker points and the trademarke low slung cockpit feel. The one on the far left looks like it might have a longer wheel base - and is a bit higher up so wondering if that will be a four seater?? Here's hoping! :)

I can see it now. I bet the in-house Autocar Mag people are having a field day designing next weeks magazine cover inventing all sort of rubbish what the new cars look like.

Always do sober what you said you'd do drunk - that will teach us to keep mouth shut!

Three new models replacing three as good as they are but rather old models can see nothing to complain about. Been a long time coming so let’s hope they are game changes not only for the company but also the sports car market. I have a feeling they are going to be very special.

Yup, time to start really mixing with the big boys now. Hopefully something for everyone here. We have known for years that one final petrol only car (Type 131, £55k - £100k+) was expected to be launched this year, but three? Maybe the other two are pure EVs, so due much later? Eg. at least one shared with Alpine.

I like the overall propotions of the three cars :) looking sat the enhanced photos here are a few things I noticed....

- really strong crease line along the sides of all cars, including sharp edge on rear haunches (Evija like)

- triagnular air intakes and bonnet scoops also seem to be carried over

- angry/mean looking - no cuteness

- substantial size difference between the car on the right and the other two - which look similar - left one looks like it tapers less at the back so might be a 2+2?

- no wing mirrors so presume cameras will be used instead?

- very hard edge across the front of the car - reminiscent of the original Elite design (creases and curves)

- rear 3/4 area looks to me a bit like a Audi R8?

- laser lights?

It would be interesting to see how these come in price wise. I’ve got around 60k but that probably wouldn’t get very much new in 2021/2 if I chose to wait

I’m working on the assumption that all 3 variants of the Type 131 chassis - the 131 series - will be launched together and all be ICE. All Lotus has said previously is that the Type 131 would be ICE; it was assumed that there would only be one actual car.

And, that they will be called the Elise, Elan and ... (not Evora, or Esprit) ... Exige, maybe?

Makes sense, exciting times.

Great news.  Wonder if they're going to offer a V8 Evija?  That would be utterly superb if they did.

Sadly not. Although I suspect that the Type 131 halo (with a V6, maybe hybrid) will look similar and get pretty close to that idea.

From the renders/pictures it is obviously hard to say, but they all look FHC to me. Is It safe to assume that at least one of them (the smaller one, probably/hopefully) will be DHC/Targa/Convertible?

They will not overlap either, it seems. Buy an Elise now or wait?

What do you reckon?
