I have purchased a rear view camera which i want to install above the rear number plate, but I am struggling to find a way of routing the wire from the camera through to the dashboard

Any ideas or suggestions??

Otherwise, send that one back and get a wireless one? They're often used for equestrian transport and commercial vehicles. Otherwise, I'm sure there's a fair amount of cabling up the right hand side of the car and through the firewall that may be a good guide.

On mine I routed the cable through the numberplate light grommet in the read panel to get it into the boot, then ran it down the right side of the car, over the rear wheel arch and fuel tank and then down the sill alongside the handbrake cables and then up over the drivers footwell to the back of the head unit.

I did have the fuel tanks out at the time which made routing the cables a lot easier, but it can still be done without, its just a bit more of a game routing the cable through into the sills.

I also zip tied the camera cables to the existing harnesses which pretty much follow that exact same route to keep it all tidy.

Depends on where your monitor is. If it's going to a ICE head unit, you might want to run up the center tunnel trim.

My car has some vacuum tubing through the trim on the sides of the headliner. That's where I ran my camera cable from the rear to the mirror area.
