Hi all

so it’s no secret that on an S2 Exige the battery would last 2 to 3 weeks before being completely flat if the car isn’t used or kept on trickle charge (or battery disconnected). 
 

does the same apply to the V6 Exige? I’m guessing it would? Just wondering if I should ask the dealer to install an Optimate fly lead and/or a discarnect before I collect. 
 

yes I know it’s criminal to not drive it at least every two weeks but sometimes I just can’t …

Or live feed the cigarette lighter and charge from there. Oakmere did this for my LF1..... free of charge 🙂

Airflow still fab trickle chargers, 22 years and still working. 

I suspect 3 weeks is max to leave any modern Lotus unused or un-trickled.

Well my S2 exige was in a freinds garage for 3 weeks locked with alarm on and when I went to pick it up took a booster pack with me but hay presto unlocked and started 😀 

An Evora will only do a couple of weeks before it's dead, seems common with most modern Lotus cars. 

That said, if you sit in my Kia EV for 5 mins listening to the radio it tells you to switch to utility mode (using the traction battery for accessories). If the 12v goes dead, which is does very quickly, you need to boost it to start the car!!  

Yes that aspect of EVs does really baffle me. Seems so very half baked as a design!

Its not like DC-DC conversion isn't a well established technology at this point. Why even still have a separate 12v lead acid battery in an EV.
