My turn signal indicators (dash) both flash when the turn signals are triggered. I was pouring over the wiring diagrams to see if this is normal and I'm even more confused now.

It looks like the indicators go through the flasher unit at C2 then up through a "Pecktron Inverter" to the lights. The wiring for the flasher unit seems to suggest that C2 is only energized if the flasher unit is faulty. I can't find any information on what a "Pecktron Inverter" is (I'm guessing it's like a relay and turns a high signal (12v) into a low (ground), not sure why each lamp is connected separately).

But after all of that, I can't see any way that the left/right indicators are tied into the the column switch at all. So both the right and left lamps on the dash flash, regardless of the lights that are flashing on the car. This looks like my car is working by design, but I'm still confused as to the wiring.

If you are handy with a soldering iron here's what I did to get directional turn signal indicators, just tapping turn voltage off the hazard light switch wires. I added new sockets so I could still keep my Inverter wiring intact.😼
