Of those who have either put a deposit down or are interested in buying one once more information and specifications are released; which model are you looking at the 600, 750 or 950

Im not sure if there is a 750 version it might be something I have dreamt or just read sometime back, hopefully someone with a younger brain can correct me?? And before we start getting the senior moment jokes you younger ones will reach the wrong side of 60 sooner than you think 🤔

Not that i have placed a deposit, but there should indeed be 3 versions  600bhp, 750ishbp and the near 1000bhp. However Lotus has not indicated if all three version would be available from launch worldwide nor have they mentioned anything of versions being region specific at least not in western publications or dealer calls. I'm in Canada and our dealers don't anticipate getting anything before mid to late 2023.

From what I gathered the configurator available on the website now is mostly for show on the interior side as they haven't frozen interior spec details yet.

I believe there is only two power outputs between three models, the Eletre and Eletre S both get 605hp and the Eletre R gets 905hp.

905hp. That’s nuts.

Only about 5% more than the Rivian and more than 10% less than the Hummer EV.

It's a new world where 1,000hp and well over £100k price tags are the new normal.

I have also locked in a config this week.

Base model, with 'intelligent' glass roof, side cameras, and a tow bar.

What options did you go for?

Folks putting early deposits on Emira, would have had a reasonable idea of what sort of car they would be getting, assuming they had driven other Lotus models - especially Evora. But with the Eletre being a totally new  type of vehicle, I would have thought that everyone would want to actually have a test drive before payment.

Although I think Eletre is too big, would be interested to try it as a taste to how the smaller 134 may feel.

Porsche customer service has had a lot of experience with the Taycan, from what I have heard, so I would expect them to be good at it by now. Pleased your happy with yours though, and your dealer, as a good dealer, whatever the marque, makes a hell of a difference to the ownership experience.

So you've needed a new motor already? Wow. Sort of puts the Emira niggles in the shade really.

Taycan is a stunning car and as Porsche's first attempt at an EV , faults are no surprise I guess .

We had an Audi Etron - off the road for 6 months .... my I pace had a radio issue for 3 months .

Not sure if Taycan issues are any worse than any other model .

I can't imagine Lotus will get anywhere near the build quality  but let's hope they do .

I'm unlikely to progress with my purchase of the Electre  unless the test drive is really really good .

Not even sure when we will get to drive them - no road tests yet

Deposit is still refundable at this point. I think I’m supposed to get a test drive before committing to final purchase, but that might be after mine is built , if it’s an early car. Not sure, but I’ll wait to see what the next communication from lotus is.

comment_1008202

I've had two Taycans (4s and GTS) - first one had a couple of small issues - latest one has been great.  Build quality on the Eletre looked good at the demo.  Won't be proceeding either unless it's in line with Porsche - at this price level it needs to be.

One advantage of Taycan over Eletre is that Taycan is out and about and proven, but also and mostly Taycan comes as an awesome fast estate car. I really hope Type 133 will spawn a fast estate car cause they are awesome. People are under the spell that they should get SUV, cause they are safer, you see the road better, blah blah blah. Most SUV are not great to drive, and guzzle gas more than a station wagon would. Of course, with an EV, that last criteria is null and void, and the SUV form factor hides and protect the battery better, but I still dig a regular height car and I live in the land of the snow.

comment_1008406

The Type 133 looks more than 5 meters long on the spy shots. And the focus seems to lay on the passenger space in the back. I would favor a car length of 4,8 to 5 meters that sits lower than the spyshots suggests. For the meantime I bought a tesla and now I will wait, till the perfect electric grand tourer will be released.

comment_1008501

The only thing until the perfect electric grand tourer is that it will require the perfect electric recharging network, looking at things from my perspective we are very far from it. Hopefully it gets better but the fact that charging network are not managed  by big petco selling you their stuff is not quite helping i think. Tesla has by far the best network at the time being, by best i mean it is the most dense, cohesive and reliable.
