I'm not so sure - isn't that the replacement exhaust sitting on the back seat.

Last MOT is 2017 - so been on the road relatively recently. Lots of fail reasons though. Headlining looks to have dropped, and I'm not sure I believe the 36k mileage looking at the steering wheel & front seat.

I reckon mine was in only slightly better condition when I bought it in 2015, took Gerald about 4 weeks to put it back on the road - which I had budgetted for.

That 36k might be the true total mileage, it might also indicate 136k, the engine would probably give it away, at 36k it should be original numbers and quite quiet (no piston slap etc).

Exhausts are a nightmare as there's more than one manufacturer of OEM stuff, and you cannot mix and match easily, so that additional exhaust may be of no use on that car.

Headlining, well they all go eventually, but it did strike me that the seller hadn't even bothered to vacuum that old foam away.

Seat, could be that the leather hasn't been cared for and the sun etc has caused it to age excessively, but chances are it aligns to a 136k car.

Yes, a £10k car is often the cheaper route (if you're not going to do the work yourself) but a lot of the time people want the car now not a long time later once they've saved for that £10k (which may by then be more), or they want to try and do it themselves.

If your goal is to get a car on the road quickly for a limited budget and/or enjoy tinkering yourself this could make an interesting project. My major concern would be the state of the engine, you obviously don't want to try starting it like that but I'd want to make sure it's turning freely and everything looks complete and serviceable.

I have made many mistakes in my life. Buying a multiple Lotus is not one of them.
