HOTEL ANYONE?

Am thinking of finding a hotel for the saturday night and then travelling

back on the sunday. Wonder if anyone else is up for this? Would give the

oppertunity to have a meal, few beers and a breakfast before heading off.

Any takers and i'll start another thread solely for this. :D

Howard, I think the name on the list is another Howard who emailed me.

Dave Brown, send me an email. I know a gearbox specialist (it's not PNM) who will have all the parts for your gearbox. They will also be able to have ti fixed for the big day and a really good price too!

Will meet up at Chester Services first for the local lads. Then we'll meet up again just before Oulton Park so we can convoy into the car park.

Will post some times up next week. Need to contact the circuit to see if they will give us some parking space in one lot.

I think it's

And post the address or post code for the Services please. I know Chester a little but can't recall the precise whereabouts of THE Chester Services. If I've got an Esprit by then, then I'll make my way to the services even though it'll mean me driving past Oulton. If I'm still without Esprit, then I'll probably meet you all at Oulton (Landrover could cock-up your convoy!)

I have just rung Oulton Park track to see if we can get a group parking facility, waiting for phone call back.

A few mentioned hotels and B&B's. Here's a link to the track website and links to hotels and B&B's. This gives you all plenty of time to book a room.

Chester Services is on M56 junction 12 I think. It's more like Ince/Helsby than Chester.

Once I get the phone call back from Oulton Park, I will ask Kato to put a note on LEW so we can get more viewers to attend.

:) Sadly having to withdraw my appearance from this event... Whatever happens to my car in the long run I don't see it getting fixed by the big day. Have fun all, and I'll see you all at the next one... possibly with something else :)

Really sorry to hear the bad news. Why not come anyway? If this meeting is a sucess then I'll organise others including trackdays etc early next year.

You may pick up some useful info or find some help fixing your car perhaps?

Paul, go to the links on Lew and the website has links to loads of hotels and B&B's all with distances from the track.

Hope this helps.

You could always stay at the M56 Chester services? That way you can meet us right at the mini meet on the way?

Hey, i don't know the area up there guys, any tips on a nice hotel

in a nice area, with a nice carpark, that does a nice breakfast?

Cheers  :)

Paul,

There's a decent pub/hotel in Tarporley about 10 mins form the circuit. I'll try and get the name.

By the way, the nice carpark is assuming i am in the Esprit :)

All you guys who are not coming due to the esprit being off road?

Depending on our plans for the next day, and if i visit my brother

in manc, there is always a slight chance i'll come to this meet in

a saxo. So don't let your means of transport stop you, after all,

i'm going to meet the northern lot and watch some racing, so what

i've got in the carpark ain't that crucial to me enjoying the day!

Dave,

Think I may have recruited a couple more.

My neighbour Peter Mallory owns a stunning Giugiaro S3 in calypso red with a genuine 16000 miles on the clock. The other guy, Roger Wade as a black Giugiaro (currntly on the ramps at PNM) but also an Elise. They're not definites, but I'll keep pressing both of them.

Cheers,

Graham.

I was going to ask Roger Wade but I didn't think it was his kind of scene.

He's normally into trackdays etc. His Esprit will be ready in time if he wants to take it.

I'll put their names down anyway.

I notice that there aren't many Southern names on the list? I know it's a Northern meet but when there's an Oxford meet, there are lots of Northerners who travel down for this.

If this is a sucess then come spring time, I plan to follow the Mid Engine Sports car series around the country planning lots on meets. This will mean everyone gets a fair chance on travelling.

Here, Here!

We are getting towards the end of the season for big car meets and events

(stoneliegh is probably the last bigish one). I am making this event a must

as i have met a lot of the names on the list, so that means they have come

just as far in my direction.

Was kinda hoping mooting the hotel idea that it took some of the distance

out of it and gave people more of a reason to come.

Don't worry Paul, I will be at Stoneleigh along with quite a few Northerners as we do every year.

It's a shame Kato is away and Dermot can't make it either.

Iam not having a dig, just trying to get more people to come. I've probably had the opposite affect and wound them up instead.
