My lotus sports exhaust is comming to the end of it's life. The question is do I replace it with another from lotus, or go to one of the other makers that are out there. I have contacted Tubi about this and they make an exhaust for the esptit but a bit detremental on the pocket at

Do not replace it with the standerd or "sports" lotus one

it/they will only last 5~8k miles I know i've been tho 3 of them

The US spec one now fitted to my car (FOC from lotus) not only sounds

better then the "Sports" version but lasts ....

it bubbles and pops perfectly and always at the right time!!

it looks far more moden than the original

Go with some straight pipes (ie cat back). Chris Neil's sell them for about 100 quid. Saves about 15kg, sounds great, faster spool up & reduced back pressure. Nothing really to go wrong with them :D

The other cheap alternative is just to get your lotus exhaust fixed (ie weld it up when it cracks.)

The tubi looks like great kit, but i know of one owner who was not happy with his.. in fact it had higher backpressure than the stock exhaust system :-/

Larini system also looks good, but again, a bunch of money compared to some straight pipes.

hey guys, i posted this in the other thread but i think it still applies....

"Some claim you make roughly 15Hp and 30lb feet of torque with cat delete, which sounds about accurate. Removing cats on turbo cars really make a drastic difference especially on old rotted out british cats.

I would suggest just running straight cat bypass and running 4 small resonators and thats all the muffling you'd need. This is what I plan to (run 4 of these, two on each side)

Those resonators are the highest quality resonators i've ever seen. All the BMW E46 M3 guys run them b/c the stock cars sound like ass and just one of these resonators eliminates 95% of the rasp. I think 4 would be great, two acting as resonators, two acting as mufflers, then coming out to a set of high quality stainless tips, great combo. the best part, they are only $84 each SHIPPED, talk about a steal. so for roughly $330 plus some mandrel bent stainless pipe (probably another $100) you can have an amazing full stainless bolt on system for under $500 US dollars. anyways just a suggestion.
