an esprit in the alpes? saw a 911 up there last year 2wd, with chains on the back wheels. thaught he was the dogs' danglies as well, then he couldn't get the chains off his tyres, so ended up looking like a right plonker. the guy was a prick anyway.

getting back to the point, you're a braver man than I, always thought supercar and snow were mutually exclusive?

not taking it on snow, just so i can go to the snowdome in it, its about 15 miles from my house, means i dont have to take out a mortagage and use the range rover everytime

and would be funny, swear james bond had a ski rack on a lotus in one of the films

i'm guilty of having taken the car 50 miles up a mountain to ski. i kept the speeds below 40mph and didn't have a single worrying incident. the weather was sunny although there was ice on the road, and snow drifts everywhere. i also had a backup vehicle driving behind me in case the lotus broke down. ground clearance wasn't a problem apart from the front which scraped through. i think this all could be done safely and efficiently with suitable snow tires. everyone has already scolded me about the salt but did wash and wipe everything down. i have plans to make kevlar underside armour so salt cleanup should go faster next time.

Are the people in the Handirack video in the business of stealing surfboards as they get to the beach, fit the roof rack and then load up the boards?

This way, the Handirack would pay for itseld in no time.

Here's a thought - why don't you just fix the boards to your roof with body filler?

they actually sold those racks in america through lotus dealers; for yore ice only. i wish i could find one, so i could make an improved version. i don't think it looked terrible on the car.
