bonnet intake grille modification

i tore out the original lotus black woven mesh grille which was installed sloppily and twisted when new. i chose to replace it with a hexagonal pattern punched sheet of thin gauge aluminum sheet. before i glue it down i have to decide the final colour. should i paint it black,red, or leave it silver? thanks.

They all sound like they'd probably look ok, so best to go with the one that you get a kick out of most

i like the raw alumium, but it's gonna weather badly. if only i could get the same material in anodized. anyone know a source?

What about one of those silver paint spray cans made for alloy wheels?

black. blends in with the rest of the trim

then again after all the effort it would suck to not have it be so visible anyway:D

silver paint is too changing rooms for my taste. i'll probably wait until i have enough small pieces and bring it all to the electroplatist.

Hop over to a motorcycle dealer, look for a can of PJ1 paint. It is called "SUZUKI GRAY 1993-2000 EPOXY PAINT"

It is a dark gray metallic engine case paint. Goes with everything, anywhere.
