Hi Karl, Thanks for that......

I think I shall wait until I see pictures of these 'boot pop solenoids' otherwise I think I will play it safe and go for the 70lb military grade solenoids from the states!

The remote kit is definitely something I need to know.... :P

Thanks!

right this hasnt been cheap at all fishy, my bodyshop man is furious at the price to be honest, but its out the way:::--

i have the drivers door working on remote, but they are wiring up the passenger door on a microswitch under the dash, so i pop my door and then pop the passenger, this also makes it easier when you pull up and let someone in instead of feckin with the remote.

the solenoid is mounted directly below the catch, they have cut some of the door internal to mount it and removed the central locking system completely to get the room

i didnt have my cam with me last night and was to busy looking at the front and perspex area in bonnet, but i will make sure i get pics b4 the cards go on and also i will find out the remote system, or just go on the net and look for a 2 channel remote, its that easy any will do, just the one i have got is quite cute to be fair.

Surely the best solution has to be a two channel with the buttons inside to pop both doors (this would mean you could potentially remove the handles inside as well!!) I think not having an option to open the passanger door from outside could be a pin say you wanted to put some purchases on the passanger seat you would have to open yours then pop passanger and walk around!!

Another thought is there any failsafe mechanism so that say the remote stops working you can still get in?

Quite interesting!

fail safe is being installed, but it will be installed inside the door, but as my gt3 has the boot catch inside it would mean going home to fetch the item i need to open the door. or just feck it and smash the quarter window, no big deal LOLOL

and i am not removing the handles for that very reason becuse if power in the car fails your not getting out at all, NOT GOOD

but hey it looks cute yeah yeah, and no mirrors eithier, well tiny tiny things near the side window, so the side is smooth

(semi) Luckily for us Glyn, we have key locks for our boot. So Im going to have a small 'door emergency' kit in there...

* Jump leads in case the battery dies and that's why I can't get in. (Tho I *always carry these anyway)

* Spare battery for the fob

* Window hammer! :-s Need to see if I'd be *able* to reach the inside door handle from the quarterlight? (Ours are lower than the GT3 Karl...)

This is in addition to my toolkit, killer LED Torch and butane soldering Iron! LOL
