Hi Guys

Have had a bit of a windfall and Im thinking about going up a model or two, really would like something with power steering , decent brakes, and a general more modern feel, I love the look of the orange GT3S but, thats all I do know. Also got to sell mine as well. Any advice suggestions, as always would be much app.

Cheers

Ian :)

If you're into handling or 'quality' driving (ie twisties) then it' a GT3 first (chip it) or an S4s.

If you like TVR style, going fast in straight lines and sounding 'phat' then it's a V8. Doesn't handle as well as the other two - that engine just weighs too much! (Plus there's too much torque for A-Roads)

To be percetly blunt (sorry!) you've REALLY not driven an Esprit much (cos yours blew up pretty son after you got it) my personal advice to you is get a GT3, knowing it can easily be chipped up to 280bhp. DON'T chip it for 6 months or a year and get used to the power it does have and then do it.

Whichever you buy, spend

...and a general more modern feel.

For the five years i had my 1983 S3, i looked at the newer Esprits and imagined they would be much more modern/smooth.

My first ride in an S4s put that to bed, now this may just be me, but i think the Esprit has a general character running through all the models. My SE has all the loveable little creaks and fally off bits that my S3 did, i don't think the ride is worlds apart and if anything the N/A felt a bit more (dare i say it) agile.

You have a fantastic Esprit there Ian, and she owes you some miles now

Thanks Paul

Yes its just been a depressing start to my Esprit ownership, just have this vision of constantly spending wads of cash which I suppose will go with any Esprit. Getting a really hard time off the missuss too about it all but thats nothin new.. she wants a new house I want a new car, sounds familiar.... he he :)

Cheers
