Sunday November 13th

Maps here for the venue:

This is one we always attend as a meet for us Esprit lot (using the parts Fair

as a focal point). We all meet near the venue here, then drive to the show.

Meet here at 9.30am to depart at 10.00am for the show.

The Porridge Pot

Stratford Road

Longbridge

Warwick

Warwickshire CV34 6RA

www.pubfoodguide.co.uk/pubs/warwick-porridge-pot.htm

No doubt there will be seperate meets all over the country (eg Oxford,

south mimms etc) all converging on the porridge pot for the final run to

the show itself. In 2003 it looked like this:

http://www.lotusespritworld.co.uk/EOtherst...leigh_PF03.html

In 2004 it looked like this:

http://www.lotusespritworld.co.uk/EOtherst...leigh_PF04.html

Last year the organisers/and parking attendants has a communication

breakdown that meant we did not have an exclusive meeting place at the

show, and our group got split up as we arrived. ;)

Have mailed the organiser today, as he was unaware of our group

attendence (it was his first year running the show). I have invited him

to join this forum so he can see the events threads (for this and donny)

develop for himself. And am going to try to sort the parking, even if it

means me going down to see him on the saturday when the show is being

set up.

Nice one paul.

Well done for sorting this and trying to get the parking at the show organised. It was a total disaster last year.

Have they given you any idea as who is going with regards to the trade stands. It seemed a bit light on those last year as well if I remember??

I am going to really try to be there in my little red head. If the few parts that I have to order turn up in a timely fashion I can't see any reason why not :D

Being help up a bit by the indicator stalk at the moment as I can't test the rest of the electrics until I have replaced it. There may be a few outstanding jobs but on the whole it should be reay to role.

Gonna phone the guy tomorrow.

I'm asking for parking for all of us together as the first priority.

Anyone that went in 2004 would agree that it would be better to

be parked together like we were then (a short walk from the hall),

than to be allocated some display places here and the rest there etc...

Everyone ok with this?

As always, if you want to display your car (Troy?) then the club will

be looking for some cars to display in the hall of the show, so i will

find out what time you need to get there for this. Myself i am happy

to be outside with the rest of you, pointing at things on each others

cars and chatting over a gritty cup of coffee.

:D

I'm doing this mainly because i sent a very unhappy E-mail to the

organiser last year, and had kept that (and his reply) in my inbox,

with the intention of making sure we all bang our heads together

this year and that Club Lotus know that 50 Esprits will be driving

through the gates at XYZ hours looking to park. Alan has mailed

me back and i need to catch him to discuss what he can do and if

he needs help. He has joined this forum so i am hoping he follows

our plans on this thread so he knows our plans and can comment.

Anyone (apart from myself) driving down from the North of Birmingham.

I'd prefer some A roads rather than the M6. I'd pencilled in A51/A38/A446/A45 but quite happy to change to fit in with others.

I would be happy enough parked up with you lot meeting you all face to face.

Well I have a few more bits turning up tomorow and I admitted defeat on the chairs and put them in to be trimed. When I told the guy I was having trouble he asked what machine I had and just said the bed and foot lift is far to small on that machine to do the seats. Made me feel a bit better but I still wasted a lot of leather. Just waiting to hear back on a quote for some silcon water hose at the moment.

right... ;)

Spoke to Alan at Club Lotus today.

We will be allocated parking this year, and it will be undercover too,

so if it's all rainy like last time we will still be able to mix around our

cars.

Have told him we will be leaving the Porridge Pot at 10.00 am and

arriving at the show at about 10.15am. It is Alans intention to make

our entrance a feature of the show by announcing our arrival on the

tannoy, so people can come out and watch us all arrive.

I will be going to the venue the day before to see where our parking

is, make sure it's marked out, and that the Stoneliegh staff are aware

of what to do. But we should have the advantage this year of knowing

exactly where we are heading for, and that we have space.

Have told him about 50 cars, PLEASE use the Stoneleigh poll so we know!

So the plan as it stands is porridge pot for 9.30am, leave for the show

at 10.00am and drive to our parking area.

Club Lotus UK (Alan is the Editor) will now be on our forum as of tomorrow! :P

Everyone here who can make it should go!

It's always one of the bigger meets of the year...

Also, EVERYONE who is thinking of buynig an Esprit *really* should make even more effort to get there as it's your best chance to check out virtually every different model, get a good feel for the quality of cars you should expect and a unique opportunity to chat to the owners.

The rest of us will be arsing around (easy Karl...) and generally mucking about with firends we don't often get to see ;)

Hello all.

After 2 1/2 months of unhappiness, the gearbox is almost together now, so it looks promising to go in the pride n' joy. ;)

just got to get it through the dreaded MOT now :P

I admit it - I'm the sad one that just did the Stoneleigh poll and posted the only "Arrive in your day car and park elsewhere" vote :(

.... but, before all hell breaks lose, I should point out that I'm flying over from Switzerland for this one.... so hope it's good :P

I haven't had the Esprit long enough to know how reliable it really is, and it's a hell of a journey from Z

Rob - Out of interest, which airport are you flying in to?

If I had my flipping car, I'd offer you a lift!

Very kind of you, thanks :P

Fortunately, I have it covered! I'm flying into Heathrow on Friday with my wife, then taking a hire car, and spending the weekend in Stratford.... should be great... and it's very near to Stoneleigh!

It has only just registered with me....

You live in SWITZERLAND....

You drive a SUPERCAR :P

HOW?!?!?! How have they not shot you and burned your car?!?!?!

Are you sure it's safe to leave? Will they not all just hide when you try to come back and pretend like the country's not there to stop you from singlehandedly destroying the trees, polluting the countryside, killing small children (etc!)

You're not exactly in the most car-friendly country in the world!! (and WE complain in the UK - Our Hippies are but amateurs over here when compared to the nonsense and influence Swiss Hippies have spouted!)

You'd be suprised what goes on over here!

What they say and what they do are two different things.

Come over on Aug 1st for example (Swiss equivalent of Nov 5th). The Swiss all buy armfulls of the biggest rockets you've ever seen (except perhaps the space shuttle), and then carry them home on their shoulder, usually on a bus or tram, while smoking their favourite fags :P

It is truely unbelievable!

Compared to such things, supercars are really nothing to worry about.

Infact, I've attached a couple of piccies I took this summer:

The first is the car park at the local supermarket

The second is a typical Swiss traffic jam

Enjoy :(

One thing...

PLEASE vote in the poll even if you only 'think' you 'might' be going

but will not know until the day. I'd rather have some spare parking

places than have people decide at the last minute and everyones like:

"yeah, great Paul, where are we supposed to park then???" etc!

Cheers!

:P
